Cops Gone Wild !!!

  1. This has got nothing to do with free speech, abuse of power or whatever. Its all about having something to whine about. If the cop had left the sign alone, and unlikely as it may be, the sign fell and caused an accident, you (ratboy) would have been the first one posting here that the cops are dumb and should be held accountable for the accident.

  4. lmao... now that is what a taser is for. great cops. they acted very professional and probably saved this guy from a serious beat down. (would have taken about 6 of them)

  5. Why is it that you spout various Constitutional rights with such religious fervor but without any regard to context? (I guess that's the religion part.) If only you could get the flag out of your eyes for just one moment and exercise some judgment, then perhaps you would not reduce yourself to a two-dimensional caricature at every turn.

  6. what the hell are you talking about? you really are afraid of a little fencing? no offense but maybe you should never trade. you seem like you are a very nervous person.

  7. I am risk-averse, so I imagine that we trade quite differently.

I'm not fan of cops, but I think they handled this one pretty close to perfect.

This sign appeared to be over twice as high as the rail (meaning if someone lets go it can tip over) it had what appeared to be metal posts at each end which could cause serious harm to say nothing of people dodging thing in their cars and causing accidents that way.

Contrary to what Rat says, wind *doesn't* blow through the entirety of that sign (if it did it would not be seen), but rather only through the open portions.

It's not the cops job to determine what would happen if a large gust came along at an inattentive moment. It's not the cops job to determine the extent of injury or chaos below in the event of a blowover or drop. The cops job is to simply eliminate the threat.

I'm a big supporter of free speach -- there nothing about free speach that allows you to endanger another, not even a little.

    Well done officers.

PS: and Rat, before you call me risk averse, I've been a Red Bull sponsered athelete, featured in Outside Magazine. I'm a World Champion hang glider pilot. A skydiver, whitewater rafter, motorcycle road racer and as a climbing guide in our National Parks, I've climbed El Cap and many other world class mountains/cliffs more times than I can remember. I accept considered risk for myself -- doesn't mean I can make that decision for others.
