If I remember correctly, you were one of the guys that really lashed out against TST in the other thread, in quite an unintelligent manner, if I can speak frankly. Have you changed your mind now? Is TST a legitimate operation after all?
I can't comment on things that I haven't experienced further on in live trading with them... That being said, I think that they're as legitimate as any of their competitors in their field. To be fair, they didn't hide anything from the public. You know the deal going in and they honor it. They definitely honored this deal we had on ET as they said they would! I can tell you that Michael Patak is a straight up honest guy and he discloses everything in an honest manner.
A guy with 10+ years experience trading stocks with 5 figure share size believes in Fooled By Randomness? You've got to be kidding me. I like to think that most people are fooled by the idea of randomness. I'm gonna have to call B.S. on CTD and his trading resume. Everything from the problems with the platform, order entry, and his sheer views on the market itself smack of snot nosed newb who lives in his parents' basement. But I could be wrong. Futures trading is a whole different ball game than averaging in a couple hundred shares at a time until you get your max position size prop trading stocks. I don't mean to come off harsh or negative because if your trading resume is valid then it appears you have been beaten down severely by the markets or you've blown your money on cars, hookers, and blow(which isn't a bad way to go out if you are gonna go out). Being a veteran you should know to not have an adversarial relationship with the market...a parasitic relationship is a much better analogy. Take and glean as the market allows but don't try to impose your will, views, or convictions on the market. You came into the combine unprepared on every level and in every aspect. I'm still trying to figure out if this little experiment helped or hurt my opinion of TST. At least the combine parameters are such that anyone can do their own practice combines at home until they are ready to put their money where their mouth is.
Redneck- We agree that managing risk is so damn important. To do this takes serious discipline and you can never take a day off or you'll give back your day, week, month or year. All of that is real money or real time or real opportunity gone. Definitively not funny. I have seen people in the pit turn white, fall down and start shaking, I have seen a guy stab himself in the arm, I have heard many times in the last ten years about guys taking their life, ALL of this was due to losing and letting those loses become so massive that you give up.. and in some case giving up on your life. It is so sad to see this business has the power to do that but the truth is it does. Either way we take the COMBINE as serious as LIVE trading so you avoid those massive losses on your learning curve to becoming consistent and trading with discipline. mp
Mav and Surf- our support team will contact you. They may schedule me to talk to you but either way lets look to get you started Monday. They will have a practice account out to you so you get comfortable with the platform prior to getting your Combine account (evaluated account). mp
Ive been on the free sim since Monday getting used to the functions under that nick. Michael can validate that. One thing I dont like is that all the order entry is based on ticks, I Prefer to enter my OCOs using actual numbers...but thats not really a big deal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you guys are chiming about a group combine id be into that as well...
Crispy.. let us get the Mav Surf Combine up and going and I will let everyone know if we move forward with the ET Group Combine. Should be a fairly interesting next month or so here as we watch things unfold. mp
