I am (personally) all in 1st and 2nd-gen exotics now, so I am essentially done with journals. I doubt that I could improve on this performance in vanillas, anyway.
Could you give me an example 2nd gen exotics? Is my assumption that barrier, knock-in/out options are 1st gen exotics correct? Thanks in advance.
Here's the NBBO-var on my largest vanilla position, bot to open today: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ta2ohouvkq3wqr5/2014-09-12_1608.png?dl=0 It shows the spread (three-strikes) as 0.60 wide at the close. I'd like to hear from anyone who followed the trades on this journal; pricing, DD, etc. Thanks.
Here's the NBBO var on the GOOG 121 fly exited today. $0.66 wide at offset: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u6agc8ya4zdkroh/2014-09-12_1702.png?dl=0
As previously said, I did one fly on SPY a few hours you posted. I had a little over 10% on debit, and thanks again. PM if someone wants proof. I’m not a billionaire and i don’t manage a HF, i’m just an analyst on an equity deriv trading desk, and I can tell that convexx knows what he’s talking about.
I modelled a SPY fly on the SPX that you posted. From memory 1.84 mid so took 1.90 as entry. Bid yesterday was >3.10 in the afternoon, which is when I close out my positions so that's 63%. For better or worse, I tend to hold longer than you do.
I posted my screenshot of SPX fly on page 17 with time stamp on trades. If someone access to time and sales they can look it up. I got in better price than you did and closed it earlier for slightly higher price than you did for profit of 14.4% on debit. In fact i was skeptical of that trade (since i believed fly's generally don't work in low vol environment), so I entered the trade just as a learning experience. Surprisingly there was no heat on that trade at any time. I have also taken Pitchfork trade, when you posted. I entered on SPX instead of NDX (since fills are much better than NDX). I closed it much earlier than you did for good profit with out much heat. Anyway have a safe travel and good luck. My future visits to ET will be not very frequent as before.
