I have a server in New York, yet every time I start the IB gateway, it insists on connecting to the Chicago host (cdc1.ibllc.com). I tried changing the entry in jts.ini to ndc1.ibllc.com but it keeps flicking back. There is some noise in the log as follows... 2019-05-24 18:42:52.617 [XR] INFO [JTS-AuthDispatcherS1-7] - Disconnecting ndc1.ibllc.com:4000 with status DISCONNECT_BY_DESIGN 2019-05-24 18:42:52.617 [XR] INFO [JTS-MISC URLsListenerS1-6] - Socket or stream for connection ndc1.ibllc.com:4000 was closed by another thread 2019-05-24 18:42:52.617 [XR] INFO [JTS-MISC URLsListenerS1-6] - Terminating Listener thread How do I go about getting the gateway to connect to the NY host?
You have to contact IB for that, they can change it but it's permanent in the sense that it will remain so until you contact them again.
I'm curious to know, if you trade Futures, would it still be better to connect to NJ? I assume IB has a "dedicated" line to Chicago, so it should be more reliable and could even be faster?
