So you advocate using a popular vote only, which would simply move the vote to be decided by the coasts, leaving middle America completely without a voice - which is precisely what the democrats want.

    No thanks.

  2. Holy Shiite. Someone just go their morning package from Media Matters.

Maybe I will cancel my weekend and watching the game to read all of it. or NOT.

Don't want to commit right now.

Exactly, that was entirely a canned political post. The question raised was Colorado's proposal that would disqualify their vote under the hypothetical of Colorado's majority candidate losing their EC votes if different than the national popular vote.

Each State has the say as to how their EC votes are calculated. Most opt for winner take all, but even the few that split their electors, they are still based on the popular vote of the district, which is probably closer to the original intent of the Framers.

    Colorado's proposal is a farce.

One thing to remember though is that OtoolOtool would also be one who would advocate heavily to retain the 60 vote Senate filibuster rule to protect the minority.

The good news here is that in practical application, the only states advocating for this are blue states right now. Why would states with low population numbers or states that enjoy being swing states ever adopt this policy? Once those states would be in favor of this policy, they would already be shown to be blue states and thus negate the whole idea.

  6. A lot of these issues would go away if the dems would come up with some candidates who are not losers.

Frigging Al Gore was VP with total name recognition, served for eight years in an absolutely booming economy, and could not even carry his home state of Tennessee in the election. So the country has to end out watching hanging chads being counted and arguing about supreme court rulings and stolen elections and all of that. Same with Hillary, scheduled to be nominated, but could not git er done.

    Al Gore= loser
    Hillary = loser

Focus on getting better candidates rather than trying to rearrange the deck chairs on the electoral titanic.

Agree---and Republicans also need better candidates than McCain and Romney.

  8. McCain was a good candidate with a real shot at winning the Presidency.

Then he chose Sarah Pailin, the most fucktarded political decision on a running mate ever and caused political suicide. When she opened her mouth to speak so many independents and left of right Republicans ran the other way. WTF was he thinking....

    FALSE---
Just like Dole, it was his turn. He was a policy wonk and did not connect with any good ideas. In addition, he was not a conservative.

  10. Focus on getting better candidates...and therein lies the problem. Is there a sane and rational democrat who can pas the radical left purity test? Any rational democrat gets booted to the curb and right quick.
