Consistently profitable traders...

Discussion in 'Trading' started by DEM BONES, May 29, 2011.

  1. The great thing about Aus and Asia is that this was just a normal trading weekend; well the monthly futures rolled over on Monday but other than that.

The funny thing about this thread is that the truth is here on a number of levels. ET is so weird. Complete xxxxxx's and yet more really good posts than the warm, cuddly, pleasant boards out there.

Hope all you good traders have a consistent week - you know who you are.

    Cheers, Kiwi :)

That statement is totally out of right field. Where have you been all these years? Magazines are famous for sending out FREE subscriptions, deals, etc, etc. the magazine makes the money from the advertisements and NOT from the rag itself. free subscriptions, givaways etc are used as actual numbers in to-to to send out for pumping up ad revenues.

Just like todays programs on TV etc that keep pestering us all to "send us what you think", what is your opinion?, our e-mail address is blah, blah..........it goes on and on. Do you really think they give a shit what you think? Spare me please..........

It is all about getting "HITS" on their websites to INCREASE the ad revenue...........different product same gimmick.

Wise up, get your head out of the sand.. :D

I trade futures, mainly oil futures. Prior to that I traded momentum stocks (AAPL, AMZN and POT). Prior to that I was an inconsistent, mostly counter-trend trader.

As far as following my trades, you are late to the party. I called my trades in ET's old chat room for months when I started out, posted live trades on CL Redux and ES Journal many times over the past year and traded with several ET members 6+ hours a day via Skype between June last year and Jan this year.

I trade between 15 and 30 times a day now and do so with no distractions, nothing in front of me except my charts and a long list of S/R levels in three time frames.

Also, now that I've spent nearly 4000 hours honing my current trading strategies and am trading all my setups each day, to allow someone to follow my trades would be to give away information that I will not give away, nor is it for sale at any price.

I've shared my core strategies on ET, which are standard trend-following/trend reversal tactics. It's up to each individual to put in the hours required to make a profitable set of strategies his or her own.

  4. Thx much for your eloquent response.

By following your trades, I meant, to just follow your entry and exit, including you stop, if there is any.

Surely, I would not want to infringe into your trading screen or such, which would be too much to ask for sure.

Many eloquent posters are not able even to place a long or a short on the correct side of the trading ladder as the price spiraling from northpole to southpole and from China to Iceland then Moscow, for example.

With excess of 4k hours under your belt.... that is an accomplishment in itself.... congrats....

How about it? Just call out your live trade, long or short with stop.... that won't be considered prying into your secret, would it?

The CL pit will be momentarily opened for biz.... will be eagerly awaiting your very first call in much anticipation.... incidentally, if you prefer more privacy, nakachaletatgmaildotcom I promise not to use your call to place trade either, ok? Just want to admire your analytical skills on live charts and real time. Have an immensely profitable trading day!

  5. Simple - assume each trade will hit its stop, and size your positions so that you feel no stress about the potential loss.

On the occasions where you stop following this discipline, simply wait until adverse market conditions generate a loss large enough to remind you why you followed it in the first place.

    You're welcome.

Can you please provide evidence of your statement about eloquent posters? Evidence can take the form of a link to an eloquent post, followed by a link to the same poster stating s/he was unable to place an order on the correct side of the price ladder. If you have even more concrete evidence, that would of course be quite acceptable.

I have 4000 hours under my belt with regard to my strategies for the instrument I now trade. I have 10,000 hours under my belt overall.

I've been there done that often, in real time, for months on end. It won't help you or anyone else.

If you hadn't been so condescending in your posts, I would've been happy to spend time with you helping you figure out a profitable strategy (I'm assuming you don't have one or you would be contributing something of value to the threads here).

    All the best to you.

  7. Thanks for responding again. Your time is valuable, won't dare to encroach nor intrude upon your time.

However, I do have a live funded acct, a live esig, four sets of live chart on TF, G6E, GC and CL. And I do trade live on line like many on ET here with very tight money management which sees me thru thick and thin allowing only 9 tics, if and when the market goes different directions. Since I only trade 2-4 contracts per product per order, my exposure to risk is not that great and subsequently my annual income is correspondingly less, only under 75k which I am certain is nothing to compare with many greater and more seasoned traders here.

A little fisherman myself with only limited trading experiences, I won't dare to venture out too far into the water TO CONTRIBUTE something of value, for I don't know something of value that a trader envisions, cherishes and treasures for so very long.... would be anything of value to the next trader.... or not.

Do you know what I mean, plse?

I am happy and content to be only a small fisherman fishing in my own ponds along Andaman shore. Perhaps, you would also know where that is.

Got to get ready to take children to schools soon. So long. Wishing you many profitable trading days ahead, so we would see greater contributions from you in the near future.
