Some important ObamaCare news broke late on Friday when the Obama administration announced it was dropping CGI, the contractor that built the inept healthcare.gov website, and replacing it with technology consulting firm Accenture. On top of that, on Friday, the Republican-led House passed a bill -- with a substantial number of Democrats joining in -- to partially address security concerns regarding healthcare.gov. But alas, ABCâs Good Morning America didnât have time to relay this news during the first half-hour of Saturdayâs program. They were too busy reporting on a horrific scandal involving a prominent Democratic politician. And no, it was not about Benghazi, or the IRS targeting conservative groups, or anything to do with President Obama. Nope, this scandal involved New York Cityâs new mayor, Bill De Blasio. It turns out the mayor was caught red-handed eating pizza the wrong way. Read more: http://newsbusters.org/#ixzz2qK7GyOyP
Arguing that "our laws need to be drafted not just in the spirit of equality, but in the practice of it," MSNBC's Alex Wagner insists that "we must continue to ask ourselves why there isn't gender parity in Congress." In other words, in Wagner's mind, it's patently unjust to have federal law shaped by a Congress which is disproportionately male compared to the general population, never mind that every single member of Congress was elected to that office by an elective franchise equally open to women as to men. That headline has an endless number of punchlines, but sadly itâs no joke. Over the last several years, the Federal Government has dished out $175 million for penis pumps. from WFB: Taxpayers paid nearly $175 million for vacuum erection systems (VES), commonly known as âpenis pumps,â from 2006 to 2011, according to an inspector general report released on Monday. The federal government paid more than double the retail price for VES, the Department of Health and Human Services IG found. Medicare prices for the systems, the report said, âremain grossly excessive compared with the amounts that non-Medicare payers pay.â Medicare paid 473,620 VES claims during calendar years 2006 through 2011, according to the IG report. Health care policy experts said the revelations in the IG report are a troubling indication of what they describe as wasteful spending in federal health programs. âThe fact that taxpayers have spent more than a quarter of a billion dollars over the past decade on penis pumps via Medicare is obscene and insulting â even more so when you consider that this is an arena of Medicare expenditures rife with fraud and where the government doesnât even bother to assess medical necessity,â said Ben Domenech, a senior fellow at the Heartland Institute. âThis is a perfect example of what happens when government becomes the be all and end all of human existence â a system where everyone has a right to a taxpayer-funded penis pump.â --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "good job mr president" It's not like we're $17 trillion in debt or anything.
