Conservative Mind Set & Conspiracy Theories

  1. Face it, you have no idea how you would solve the problem of traffic law breakers. What are you going to do? Put up stop lights? Create laws? Bad drivers will just ignore them and then what? Fine them? Throw them in jail. Threaten them with confiscation? Make it illegal to sell cars to people who are dangerous/criminal drivers? Forget it! Traffic laws don't work.

What has this to do with anything in our discussion? Let me ask you something. Do you have a wheel with one liner talking points on gun control at home, which you simply spin every time you post and type what the spin comes up on, whether or not it is relevant to the discussion?

Don't you get it? I am openly inviting you to share with me how you would ban handguns. I am open to the idea of it if you could provide me with a way that would rid the nation of all handguns, not just the legally obtained ones.

I am not against strong background checks. I am not against registration at all. We are aligned on those principles.

Address the banning of handguns. Or just continue frothing at the mouth there and spamming the board with no solution, just random pictures you get off google.

I am not trying to solve any problem on traffic law breakers. People who break the law are fined. If they continue breaking the law they lose their license and have their insurance canceled. If they continue driving after that, they end up in jail. All of the penalties, including the escalation of the offense is acceptable and functions properly.

Society functions just fine with traffic laws. Your attempt to draw some comparison to that and gun laws is completely insane, as people who break traffic laws by and large do not kill people who follow them.

    John Oliver isn't too bright.

Haven't most schools across the country been "gun free zones" for years?
Put armed guards and metal detectors at every entrance of every school. And the only school shootings will be policeman accidentally shooting themselves in the foot.

Who is it opposing the profiling registration and incarceration of the known mentally ill?
    The right or the left?

Exactly right. Create a security zone at the school with retired vets (give them a job) or a local officer. Or let teachers carry.

Putting a "gun free zone" sign up at schools doesn't do shit. That's legislation, and it doesn't work except to stop people who would legally be able to carry from doing so. The lunatic who wants to shoot up a school isn't going to stop outside and read the sign and go home.

It's been my observation fc knows even less about firearms than AGW, ALL he's got are boiler plate talking points from ignorant uninformed anti-gun loons like Piss Morgan.

Did you know fc owns a 30/30 lever action rifle? And if you haven't noticed. In typical liberal fashion. It's his fervent opinion that no one needs any firearm other than a lever action rifle.

Some months ago another ET liberal whom I won't name. Was pressing his opinion that no one could ever possibly need more than a 10 round magazine.
Guess what size magazine capacity his semi auto has. Yep, 10 rounds.

    See a pattern?

Oh, I'm completely on board. I just wanted to give him enough rope to hang himself with. This will likely be the last time I try to engage him in anything, as it is turning out to be an obvious waste of time.

He wants to ban handguns, but has no idea how to accomplish that. When shown the flaws in the "buy back" suggestion, he brings up some fucking crazy parallel to traffic laws, as if that was even remotely in the same galaxy as firearm laws.

  10. OK, so everyone agrees on waiting periods and background checks?

Let's start with something we can all agree with and move from there.

I suspect - aside from the handgun banning thing - that most here basically agree on some gun controls.
