  1. I trade full time, moron. LOL

Heh heh wow old man you sure are an angry one aren't you? Oh well, you'll be off to the nursing home soon enough. Wonder if they have wi-fi?

  2. It's not what we don't know that hurts us; it's what we know that isn't true. Get some education before spouting off.

BTW, if YOU or anybody you knows says; "there's no reason to work overtime, the gov't just takes takes more", tell them to get some education too.

  3. "...was closed by the California Department of Financial Institutions and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named Receiver. No advance notice is given to the public when a financial institution is closed. "

    Sound familiar?

  4. That brings up a whole new topic -- income tax is unconstitutional. Perhaps we should start another thread for this one. What a country huh? It looks like we are going the way of Russia, China, Cuba, Great Britain, and such. Hey, Australia forces their citizens to vote. If you don't you get fined. Perhaps we can pass that law too.

It's simply time to face the facts. The US is no longer a free country. Social programs will come out left and right and destroy a man's desire to work. This country will lose its competitive edge because there will be no incentive to produce. If you do you'll get your ass taxed off. I suppose this is all just an evolutionary process that simply can't be avoided. I think it's time to put your hand out and see what the government gives you.....

  6. Well, if I am lying then you are lying and we're both full of shit.

You talk noise about being rich and whatnot and think for some reason your words carry more merit than mine. I'm not rich by any stretch but I don't have to work for a living. More than most can say, especially at my age. I personally know at least 3 of the members here and they know I trade full time. What about you? Will anyone here vouch for you?

Alright pops have a good one. I hear it's Bingo night! Don't forget about Line Dancing lessons next week! Might as well have some fun before you vapor lock.

  7. Los Angeles just passed measure "R" for an additional .5% sales tax for the subway to the sea. Arnold wants to tack on another 1.25% to the 8.25% that is current. 10+ % on the spent side, plus 9.3% on the income side PLUS 15% Fed +++++++++++++

    Like Homer Simpson said:
Homer: What the...half goes to Bart, half goes to my Vegas wife? What's left for Moe?

Yes, Homer, what's left for Moe?

Soon Joe 6 pack will be brewing his beer in the bath tub, or his Vodka, comrade.

  8. To get this thread back on track I just read in the (real) newspaper that several companies have eliminated their matching contribution to the 401K. When companies discontinued the traditional pension plan they pointed to the 401K and matching contributions as a much better (for them of course) plan. When looking for a job and before accepting a position you need to research the financial stability and the corporate culture. Ben and Jerry's is a good example of a company that treats its employee's fairly. If a company believes in serving its customers, employee's, stockholders and finally the executives (in THAT order) there is a good chance everyone will profit......and THAT folks is CAPITALISM :)

It is ultimately the responsibility of the employee to agitate for this benefit. I see no reason for companies to pay their top tier executives bonuses then stiff the rest of the workers by cutting out or cutting back on contributions to the 401K.

Good point. The Defined Benefit Pension Plan was abandoned due to its uncertain (and potentially excessive) long-term costs... the exact problem facing GM today.

And for companies to discontinue matching 401k contributions while paying hefty bonus to top execs is unconscionable.

i understand that historically, socialism follows financial manias. perhaps going from one extreme to the next.

many years ago, i remember being very upset, that, here in Canada, and perhaps same is true in US....that busdrivers, GM workers, etc would get paid more than teachers, nurses, social workers. they didn't need the added education, and were not legally liable.

so, now, i am sorry, but i do not regret the fact that these workers are loosing their 401k's., or whatever.

i, personally, am seeing that education pays...even my trading education is starting to pay off nicely.:D
