StLou, do you mind doing me a favor by lending support to my argument that you are the real thing ? See below.

bwo: OP is the real thing.

He's got it right the first time and everytime after that. Only trades with IB, never had to try other platforms. He never had to ask for information even when he was just starting out. Discuss strategies ? Are you kidding ? Please note on another thread I started I practically beg for information repeatedly, and I have been trading over 10 years. He's made his fortune trading stocks only. According to his recent posts, he doesn't even trade beyond noon time ! Amazingly he's called the right stocks everytime as he doesnot do any trade management ( go back and read: I seldom even trade past noon time ) because pf no need.

  2. Although I am not a fan of form fitting "tests", I will admit that I took the test and I am judged to be an INTJ [ 67-38-12-22 ] also, and I would agree with your statement that the 1% figure is in error or such "types" indeed cluster around shared interests, which I find extremely interesting. [ or, as was stated previously, self testing may lead to curve fitting the results]

[EDIT: It would be interesting if anyone regularly visits a site that would be the antithesis of ET, and provide the link to the test site so we may observe the results. ]

  3. a) I think I'll take a pass on doing any favors for you

    b) I will take the time to correct some of the false info in your post

"He never had to ask for information even when he was just starting out."

In one of my earlier posts I said I had a full time mentor who was a friend (taught me for free) and that it took me a full year of copying what he was doing to learn how to do it myself. Yes, I was profitable from the beginning, but only b/c i copied his trades.

"he doesn't even trade beyond noon time"

I leave the office by noon most days. I make all my entries in the morning and exit most positions b/f noon. Any left over positions I hand over to the block desk at IB to manage my exits for me over the rest of the afternoon.

"Amazingly he's called the right stocks everytime as he doesnot do any trade management"

This one you completely made up, i never said it.

"Please note on another thread I started I practically beg for information repeatedly, and I have been trading over 10 years"

Dude, self admitted begging for information on a message board after ur 10 yrs into the process? It sounds to me like you should have quit in year 2 or at least year 5. If you haven't "gotten it" after 10 years your are never going to, that much I'm sure of.

  4. Let's see, StLouis has been on here since 2004 with just over a couple hundred posts and your current alias has been on here not quite 18 months with over 4400 posts and HE is a newbie attention seeker?

    Interesting.

  5. no. whats interesting is OP playing guru here while being played by troll-guru there http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2571606#post2571606

what the poster meant by OP being assumed full of shit until proven otherwise. or has et suddenly lost its skeptical nature?

the value of free information is mostly if not always worthless. this thread case in point

    Me:

Okay i will take a neutral stand. Wish I had a mentor like you. By the way, how you come upon such a person (this is a straight question) ?

I beg for info only because I want to start trading either F/X or ES, as my next project ( please refer to "What to trade next ?" under Futures > Index Forum.
