Confessions of a successful trader

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by StLouisTrader, Sep 10, 2009.

  1. There seems to be quite a few "confessions of a successful trader" posts and other things of a similar nature here. I guess message boards like this one allow an individual to live out a certain fantasy. However, lets keep it at just a fantasy. I suspect some people have taken this a step further where at some point its considered fraud and mis-representation which is a crime depending upon where you live.

I come to this board usually at night at a time like this when I have performed my research. I scan the titles and go through a few posts to make sure Im not missing anything obvious. Thats my purpose on this board for the most part...

Just remember, don't try to fool guys who do this for a living. You posing as a successful trader is like myself dressing up like a cop and walking into the nearest police station. You might fool someone, but the guys working in the station will not be fooled.

  2. To StLousTrader. I live in St. Louis and enjoy meeting other traders. I am a physician and would be happy to meet you at my house first so that you can verify that I am legit, before inviting me into your home. I realize that you are not posting to prove anything to anyone, but wouldn't it be nice to shut the naysayers up? If nothing else, it would be fun.

Not sure what the heck the purpose of your thread. Since I don't read every word in an apparent worthless thread, I don't understand what your purpose is for the thread. All you've done is write all your money is made by trading, what good does that do any of us as you don't mention anything about how you trade.

Then I came across this little show and tell. which the way I read it you are down quite a bit.

If you want to be our hero, let us know something about the way you trade, and it would not hurt show some proof.

  5. Dr. - the naysayers will never shut up. If we meet, you see my houses, etc. they will all assume you're an alias of mine. That said shoot me a PM and we'll figure out how to hook up.

  8. Earlier in the thread I described how a friend (self taught trader) mentored me for free. It seemed quite amazing that this fellow could actually make money daytrading and when people would ask me how he did it, i'd reply "he sees dead people". Like the little boy in the Bruce Willis movie, he could see setups that not many other people could see until it was too late to profit from them. Eventually (after over a year or so of one on one time with him during the whole trading session) I learned to see them too. The reason I mention this, is to say that if you do not have this ability, or cannot develop it, it will be awfully hard to make good money trading.

  9. It doesnt matter what my story is as I am not here to publicly display myself. Im just here to get good ideas and to avoid the noise.

You can post all you want whatever you want on whatever alias you want, but having others believe you is another case all together. Even if they did believe you, then why would they care? Its not like you are effecting their lives in anyway.

I'm making a post in this thread mainly to help you out with your issue. Your issue is mis-representation and falsehoods. Your issue is the need for attention and maybe just outright boredom. You are wasting your own time and effecting others by not spending it with them. My suggestion is simple. Stop lieing and use your time more constructively. If you want to be something, then put some time, effort and sacrifice into it versus coming on to a message board and mis-representing yourself.

Thats all I have to add to this thread.

  10. the naysayers won't shut up, because

    1) it is thoroughly obvious that the only one who would make your claims, is a lonely attention seeker, who is hoping others will listen to his self-delusions

    2) it is further obvious, that your refusal to provide any proof means that you do not want people to uncover the truth.

    3) you seem not to realize how many different people have recognized you are delusional. Thus you are blind to anyone who tries to pop your balloon, Mr. Bates...

    4) You apparently live on your thread. When I responded to your post claiming to own a jet last night, I edited it a minute later and you had already responded (10-17-09 08:54 PM) Only a pathetic attention seeker camps out on his own thread, waiting for someone to notice him...
