Confessions of a successful trader

  1. I got smoked out of some of the MOT, now down to 121k shrs w/realized PnL of -26,143. I need to get real lucky if that one is going to end up working.

  2. Out of everything losing about 30k on the day, which is what I get for having crappy ideas.

Thanks for sharing your trade, StLouisTrader. That was a gutsy trade you did.

Trying to learn something here. You went all in to short POT at open 87.9x since you reported your trade by 9.36am. so you pretty much short at market$ at open. You had a 0.50 profit in 10 minute had you chose to cover. By 9:40, POT made its big move up and stayed strong through out the day. You covered some incrementally and were all out by noon.

Does anyone else here short a stock at open and accept pretty much the market $price ? I pulled the chart on POT to show what it looked like this morning.

  8. fyi- i didn't actually use an opg order for 23k shrs (might be obvious that is too much size for this stock), i worked into it during the premkt and for about 2 min after the open, then reported my avg price. Yes, i did have a nice profit for awhile, but I thought (wrongly) that the stock could go down another buck or two, so i ended up with a loss.

Also, many times i do opg orders and accept the mkt price (just wasnt the case on pot), but the size has to be pretty small so in the event i get screwed on the print it's not a huge deal.

In the long run I always lose when day trading -

But I have never had a losing month for 5 years in my long term trading accounts - but I continue to day trade I love the thrill keeps me sane whilst I wait for long term trades to work out. Day trading is keeps me patient wating for proper trades - uuhhh
