Conclusion....Consumption Tax Needed

    1. Smaller government

    2. Most broadly based, lowest percentage tax structure.

    What we'll GET is...

    1. MORE government..

    2. More and higher taxes

  3. I would really encourage you to check your facts again. 50% of our GDP is NOT Government spending. If you want to prove me wrong, please find a government site that supports your claim. I guarantee you won't find anything at that level. Government as a percentage of our GDP is no more than 10%, and that would be at most.

    I saw a graph that showed 50%. Maybe its not 50%. 10% is a joke, though.

    The Federal Budget alone is 3Trillion. That's 21% of GDP, right there. Now add State and Local.

    Thanks, guys. Seems those charts include Federal, State and Local expenditures + regulatory compliance in the last one.

    ~45% Government spending ++

    How is this any different then serfdom? Where Lords took 50% of their subjects labor?
