  1. Please quote where I said NK was the place to be?

No, you tactic is logically failing.

You brought up Switzerland as the "model" society...so move there.

  2. Comparing a slave to a gun is an odd argument.

A gun is an inanimate object and has no legal rights by any stretch of the imagination; or by any moral argument as you could make regarding the fundamental human rights of a slave.

No matter how you look at it, either legally or morally, only the owner of the gun has rights.

  3. Yes, actually in a United States, I have a problem with it being a "local" issue.

    Federal issue is best.

Of course, the north had a problem with the south's local control of black people...so there you go.

  4. Law enforcement in numerous cities (Chicago, DC, etc.) have taken the pisition of total disarmament including a ban on handguns and the requirement that all long guns be stored disassembled and unsuable without reassembly. Numerous other police chiefs and sheriffs have stated that they would ban guns if they could. Do you consider that a reasonable suggestion?

Model Society? Please quote me where I said THAT?

You see, we are both making assumptions. I simply stated that their policy on firearms is attractive, not that everything Swiss is attractive (although, I do like you Swiss introverted super hermits you!).

My assumption, based on, what seems embarrassingly apparent to not just myself on this thread, is that you are a radical left wing nut-case.

It is of course possible that I am mistaken, as this is only an assumption based a small sample set of observations (although with your post count, I suspect that enough research would yield damning results of some nature).

Nonetheless, I feel my compatriots on this thread are on track, so I shall now observe more and talk less such that they can be clearly heard.

  6. A gun by itself is harmless.

When it is in the hand of an animate object, it is an extension of the will of the person holding it.

A man holding a gun to your head is all about power over you, just like slavery was all about white men having power over black men.

  7. So you are attracted to their firearms policy, so move there?

Or are firearms not as big of a deal as it appears...

    You can try this:

"My assumption, based on, what seems embarrassingly apparent to not just myself on this thread, is that you are a radical left wing nut-case."

...but history will show that doesn't work.

    Your assumption is fallacious...

Man that is one twisted outlook you have there.

My understanding was that slavery was mostly about commerce with slave owners obtaining and exploiting african slaves for cheap labor.

I rather doubt the entire antebellum south was developed to serve someones need for power over another.

    You've got...issues.

  9. Power over another human being...for commerce, or for control of any reason is still power over another human being.

The south believed it was their Constitutional right to put commerce before humanity...

    Their belief was overthrown.

  10. This thread is about guns mostly, right?

You spoke in glowing terms of Switzerland's gun policy, right?

    So move there, why not?
