I'm graduating with a Computer Science Masters degree this year. I was thinking about doing a PhD in machine learning, natural language processing and game theory applied to algorithmic trading on financial markets.

I was hoping I could start an algorithmic trading firm after that or at least work in a hedge fund as an analyst. What is my salary outlook for such a job? I heard that people make ridiculous bonuses in investment banking. Can a "artificial intelligence algo trader" salary match that? If my aim is to make the most money, should I switch to investment banking?
