  2. Welcome ashantt to the Elite Trader community. Your post was interesting with good questions.

In my opinion, you need to try to learn something of trading by paper trading (without actual currency) & then when confident switch to real money. Do part time trading as you have two incomes from trading & job.

Have a look at following threads (Many books & advices are mentioned here):

Regarding amount for trading, if you want to have more, you can try the "pooling concept", please see following threads:

By sheer coincidence I stumbled upon my first post on ET today it is on this thread.

It has been exactly 13 YEARS.

Please read it. I am almost embarrassed at my naivety.

I knew absolutely nothing and I went about trying to learn how to trade on MY OWN and as you can guess I paid the price financially, emotionally and in lost time.

But 13 years later I have turned into a pretty good damn trader making a comfortable living day-trading futures. Took me around 6 years to break even and a couple more years to become profitable and I really took off with the volatility the last 3 years.

Any questions of my 13 year journey I would be happy to answer.

  6. Are you a millionaire trader?
If not, are you a hundred thousandaire?
If not, are you a thousandaire from trading?
If not, are you a hundredaire from trading?

I hate to be so direct and blunt. But this is trading/business/finance....everything else is just noise and conversation and filler and nonsense.

You've been posting on this forum occasionally from 2009 until now. You have not been ABSENT from the forum for 13 years. What are you expecting us to give you, and what are you offering the forum? What salad advice can you give people who have been through the 2009 to 2022 maelstrom?

I expect nothing from this forum. All of the great posters like Acary, Dustin, 40 year old trader, and many others I forget are gone from here.

My one piece of advice is to trade small until you have a system you trust and then scale up gradually, never getting greedy. Just play the probabilities over and over and you will last in this business.
