Common Good?

  1. Every once in a while the liberals slip up and actually say what they believe. That was one of those times. She believes all prosperity comes from the government, and it is up to a wise government and benevolent leaders ( ie liberals) to decide what you will be allowed to keep.

In fairness to Hillary, that is all she has known her entire life. Her so-called career as a lawyer was based entirely on her husband being governor of a poor and corrupt southern state. Their current wealth came emtirely from government. She has very little concept of what it means to produce wealth. She, and all liberals, view wealth as a fixed pie. If soemone gets rich, it means someone else got poorer. In fact, someone posted that exact thing earlier on this thread, ie the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Of course, that is totally wrong. Everyone got richer as society's wealth increased.

I think it is fair to ask at what point are we rich enough and we want to trade some prosperity for leisure time or less pollution or more open space. But that is not what the "common good" crowd are talking about. They are just trying to dress up big govenrment as somehow having a moral value.
