Commissions or Fees for exercise?

Are there typically any commissions or fees associated with exercise or assignment? Does the broker matter (I use IB and couldn't find anything in their help files either way).

 

Depends on the broker. Some charge per exercise per strike others, like IB, don't charge anything.

 

IB is probably the only broker that does not charge fees for exercise/assignment for retail traders...
