overall I like this thread: Timely updates and responses. Good work and support!!! I have a suggestion, unless I have missed it and it already exists: Is there a way to custom-set the time zone within Esignal? I am trading US markets in Europe and I dont want to change my system time in Windows as the time stamp of my email system would then be mixed up. I want to keep the time zone settings in my windows settings but like Esignal to display intraday charts in EST or CST. Is there a way to accomplish this. Would not re-invent the wheel but help quite a bit and would reinforce your commitment to target customers outside the North America time zone. THanks, Matt
Matt, At this time, eSignal does not have this feature. eSignal uses the local computer's time zone to base its displayed time. I do know that this is on our development list of items to add, so we should see this enhancement eventually (just not sure about an ETA for it.) If you have any suggestions about eSignal, please feel free to email our Product Development Team.
Just wanted to say I really like the 'new' combined eSignal Premier package. This is a combination of eSignal Equities and eSignal Futures for a monthly price of $129,- (If you want a mix of equities / futures) Also no region fees. Now the only thing I want them to change : Market Depth Fees
We're glad you like the new pricing. We're pretty pleased with it as well. Regarding Market Depth, we did lower the rate 60% from $50/mo to $20/mo as of October 1st (plus applicable exchange fees). With all the additional bandwidth needed to support depth, pretty tough to go much lower than that and maintain the quality and other lowered price points. Thanks.
I truly don't understand the demand for market depth in futures. I've seen this request many times. Maybe it's a holder-over from when stock traders used depth to trade. Its all BS, especially in futures. Alot of stops are held off the server. They can even hide the volume of orders held by the exchange now. Some of what you DO see is BS and misdirection. Someone will show a size bid at the peak of a spike, trying to get it to go a bit higher and then at the last second take the bid away and immediately start selling. Maybe the bid/ask size MIGHT indicate something, but anything one, two or more levels out means nothing. Bids get pulled and added so fast, the market depth that you do see is not meaningful.
CBOT and CME Market Depth will be available in eSignal 7.5 as well as Forex Market Depth, and New York Liquidity Quote. Here's a training video on the subject that demostrates these features.
Are there plans to make the ActiveX API more useful? I wouldn't pay for an API that sends one bar of data for each function call. That's just a toy! In addition why do you charge for the API, If I'm not mistaken you are in the data delivery business, not the charting software business.
