I'm using eSignals charts and setting price and volume parameters with their Alert Settings( set to Audio alert ) to populate my Bon Trade order entry. A very nice tool
I believe this would count toward two symbols. One for ADI=N and one for ADI. Just confirmed that... so yes, it does count as two symbols.
Here's the ones I currently have. This should at least get you started. I'll check to see if we have the other partner pages up yet, and post my findings. Well Chuck, I hope so this time. We have been down this road before, with e-signal assuring me that this would be fixed. Thanks,
I am curious as to why you don't think NYSE only daily data is not extremely useful. All it takes is one out of bounds tick on AMEX or an ECN to totally destroy a daily bar. I am surprised that there is not more of an uproar about this. Any scans and backtests of daily data is effected, and I believe the problem is so pervasive as to render daily backtest and scans marginal at best. I am ALMOST convinced that these are deliberately put in for that exact purpose, to foul up the scans and backtests of the great unwashed herd out here. I would like to hear from others on this, how do you deal with it etc. AND.. I want to hear why it has been dismissed by you folks at e-signal.
Tony, There are a few reasons we chose not to add regional daily data at this time. 1) We'll have no historical data, and would be starting to build this database from scratch. This would effectively negate any value for at least a year, and for many 5-10 years. 2) If we were to store daily regional data, we would do so for each regional exchange, and in doing so this would increase our daily database for NYSE symbols by seven fold.
Just heard back on this. We are still fleshing out the marketing side of these new partnerships. Once that is completed, we'll update our eSignal Partners Page with the additional information, so please keep an eye or two peeled on that page for an update. Thanks for the inquiry.
Jay, I can't imagine why you would need to store regional data for all exchanges. The NYSE is the only exchange that provides relatively accurate quotes and that is why I and other Users want the daily data. The data integrity of all the other exchanges and ECNs is basically worthless, because they are full of bad ticks and late prints. I'm glad that I will at least be able to view a daily chart with version 7.5, but it's extremely annoying that it will double my symbol count. The double symbol count problem basically makes it unusable, because I need to monitor more then 500 symbols, so this would be impossible with eSignal. I'm always amazed that more Users don't complain about this problem, but I guess it just shows how many either aren't aware of it, or how few actually use the data for backtesting and system development purposes.
