Just loaded up 7.4 which looks good.. especially like the ticket designer for IB orders.. getting close to using esig for order entry but have a couple of questions..

    1) will there be a bracket order function added any time? I always use a hotkey on IB to send a bracket order so as soon as the order is filled a target and a stop are automatically placed.. I then tinker with them manually as the trade progresses.. such as partial exits which then require the stop to be adjusted etc.. that saves time and would not like to be without that feature.

In the meantime, I presume if I entered a postion via IB as described above, then it would be possible to use the esig ticket to send partial exits and follow up adjusted stops?

    2) I know that customisable quote boards have been much requested and I am sure they will come along in due time.. meanwhile for me with my present strategy having a column in a quote board to show the gap would be immensely useful.. as I could then sort a quote board according to gap up/down.. I cant see that in the included fields.. unless I am missing it.. would that be hard to add for you?

    3) is there any way to have esignal running on one pc and irt on the other one in my LAN? I have tws on the second pc and esignal can feed to it via the ip settings.. is this not possible for irt also? Its just that I have 2 monitors on each pc and I really need to balance the use of the screens better..

I am looking forward to some of these features as I would prefer not to need a third party add-on and do everything from within esignal... getting closer anyway.. :)

Here's a summary of our ActiveX Interface. Regarding your question about price it can vary based on your needs. Here's a post on eSignalCentral that discusses this further. Any questions regarding our ActiveX Interface, can be best answered by emailing activex@support.esignal.com.

  5. I am an I R/T user also...been one for several years. I use the E-sig Data Feed.

I remember being able to open E-sig up with I/RT running. the only reason I see to do that though is to use the platform portion of it, which is a good idea.

I trade the same way you do in the respect of Bracket Trading. I prefer to enter exactly as you explained and tinker with the bracket. I call it a "dynamic picture frame".

    Thanks for your post,

I know Neil is already aware of this, but for the benefit of others, the answers to this question can be found at this eSignalCentral thread.

Sounds very interesting. I know this can be done easily using EFS (eSignal Formula Script), however EFS cannot yet be applied to a Quote Window or Quote Board. eSignal 8.x Series should bring one or both of these abilities to the table, so a solution is already in the (long-term) works. I believe the first of the 8.x series is due out before the end of this year.

A second eSignal subscription would be required for this due to exchange regulation limiting one data feed to one PC. If the main goal is to have 4 monitors and not really to have 2 PC's, then one solution would be to have either multiple PCI cards installed or install a video card that supports 4 monitors.

  7. This is what was on the link to make it easy for everyone here,

We do want to add the ability to create bracket trade buttons (i.e. the ability to have more then one order be sent per button,) however I'm unsure when this can be made available.

Regarding the ability to edit an order, I haven't tested this out with IB directly, but this should be able to be done from within the Order Ticket's Active Orders area. As seen below, I'm editing my Stop. Once I have the new value in the field, clicking on "Update" should send the update to IB. If the Active Orders area has been turned off, you can turn it back on under Edit Template, Properties, Show Active Orders.

Ok, I'm getting close, but still can't make it work. The cash component of this spread is causing a problem. How do you incorporate a number into the spread calculation?

    Quote from lescor:

How can you plot a spread like the LEH-NEU merger in esignal 7.4?

In qcharts it's (leh * .496) + 9.49 - neu, just type it into the symbol line.

I can't find anything in the help file. I know something can be done in esignal's scripting language, but I was hoping it would be easier than learning how to program.

  9. Hi Corey,

    You are almost there! Here's what I entered for the formula;

    ((LEH * .496) + 9.49 - neu

You were missing the parenthesis before LEH and after .496. Also, you need to space between LEH, the asterisk, .496, etc.

Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

I upgraded from 7.2 to 7.4 yesterday. My question is after looking around the esignal website and the forum I guess I overlooking where I can find what is the most current build of a particular release?

Also I have a custom efs script that was written by a friend and it does a nice soft beep sound alert when the signal hits. Well the programmers having nothing else better to do I guess for whatever reason made a change in 7.4 that now gives me a door bell sound instead of my soft beep that I had in 7.2. How do I figure out what changed in 7.4?

I'm not an efs programmer so I'm not sure how to approach the problem.

    Thanks in advance
