Maybe you're misreading me. I got mad initially. There's almost always a piece of anger in all frustration and disappointment. I'm not mad anymore. I'm resolute in action. I've decided what I'm doing as a result and I couldn't give a flying fuck about the opposing view anymore. Notice, also, that I've not stated any facts or am I trying to impose my view on anyone. All I've done here is state my feelings and thoughts. There are three types of general responses. The right and conservatives have pretty much agreed with my feelings. The more moderate and independent (truly independent, not just claiming they are) are not really in agreement with me, but they respect my views and aren't trying to talk me out of it. Then you've got the liberals on the left who are telling me I am wrong, and how I should feel. Liberals always tell people what they should feel and think. Libertarians respect people's right to feel whatever it is they want, even if they don't agree with it.
The naive and greedy apparently have no clue as to what they've voted for... They think they've won something material, when in fact they've given away the next most important thing to their life. I'm with you, man.
The naive and greedy apparently have no clue as to what they've voted for... They think they've won something material, when in fact they've given away the next most important thing to their life. Personally, I usually don't care what stupid people do... when they do stupid things, they deserve the consequences... but it's not right that their stupidity harm those of us who are NOT STUPID AND GREEDY! I'm with you, man.
Of course I do not. I personally grew up in USSR, in the area where my particular ethnicity was one of the worst to have. What about you? I am not telling you what to do. I have no right or reason, all I can do is a suggestion. I personally find it wrong on any level to severe relationship with a mother over her voting choice. And if you truly grew up under repressive regime, then you should take an unbiased look at our country. You might realize its greatness and huge potential for our children.
Hypothetically speaking, would you have stayed with your mother had she been a fervent supporter of say Hitler or Stalin? Right now the biggest "potential" is the massive debt they're going to inherit.
You can personally find whatever you choose to be wrong, right or indifferent. I'm not asking you to do what I do, nor am I asking for your understanding. Your advice is unsolicited and unnecessary. I have made up my mind and I will adhere to it as it is the best decision for me. There's really nothing you can offer in either direction. I do not see the potential you refer to. What I see is what once was, may still slightly be, but will soon be no longer.
At this stage, I do not plan on apologizing/reconciling to/with my mother, and my son and I have had no issues. He has had nothing to do with this.
a) It could be a very lengthy discussion. But I will just make few points. It is not a fare comparison as Hitler and Stalin were both dictators and mass murderers. Hitler was elected, but then immediately abolished any political oppositions. The information was not as readily available back then as it is now, and was fully suppressed. So many folks did not even know who they were really electing in case of Hitler. In Russia it was not even an option to elect Stalin. No rational person would have supported them had their atrocities be known. We all are looking at them with a 20/20 view. b) Agree about debt, but show me any other country on the planet where life is better or will be better then here in USA.
