  2. Here's something we can agree upon 100% (wife included).

I prefer to be harmless, and usually am, but, as I'm sure you know, stupidity has its way of bringing about the occasional destitute cataclysm.

  3. You start by not buying into their stupid lies and then you vote for economic freedom and liberty.

No idea what you mean but don't feel compelled to explain unless you like.

I sense you have some capacity to be civil if you want to. Fine. I usually return that courtesy if I'm receiving it.

    John,

You've probably been hearing a lot of people telling you that fixing America’s problem is a hopeless and a lost cause, especially these last several days, but I think that what you've done is a great way to start making some changes, and others can learn by your example.

Although there is a chance that the person(s) calling you may be donating their time to make phone calls for a charity, it is more likely that they are telemarketers, as you have labeled them, who work for a non-profit organization(s) or NPO‘s.

Those telemarketers will have to tell their interested parties(the business which employs them), if only by numbers , that you no longer wish to contribute to the cause of their business.
If they are a decent, or even savvy company worth their salt, then they will note the reason for your non-contributions and pass it along, as that kind of information would be beneficial to their future business.

As you may understand already, the telemarketers work for an organization, that relies upon contributors such as yourself in order to fund its employees, pay for overhead, etc., etc.

What you may not understand is, even a decent company will only likely be able to forward a very tiny percentage of the money you have been giving to the actual charity in which you support.
This is why it is so important for these NPO’s to expand and generate ever growing surplus revenues, so that the underlying cause (your charity) can benefit as much as possible from their business.

So by the nature of the business, these companies will have concern as to why you are no longer contributing. They will in turn have a need and desire to try and get your business back, as not only are the relatively small portion of funds to your charity at stake, but so are their jobs, as well as capitol for future growth revenue.

Many of these companies may be very successful at what they do, employing hundreds or thousands of people, all working to either get your money, or use it effectively.
Some will employ volunteers to handle certain tasks, but most will usually have paid staff, including management, administrators, executives and so on.

IMPORTANT: Many may not be aware of this, but the larger NPO’s CAN and DO lobby legislators, as many laws and bills will affect the ability of these businesses to thrive.

If enough people, like you, stop giving to these companies, and start telling them why they no longer contribute, then words can lead to action which leads to change.

Good job sending a clear message!!

Oh I think the ID is believable. Tilde-girl is Trendlover.

The syntax alone is too coincidental with both ending sentences with a preposition.

That is the type of grammar up with which I will not put. :D
