COMEX - Globex FAT FINGER Dinger ?

Discussion in 'Commodity Futures' started by SethArb, Dec 10, 2006.

  1. it used to be the CBOT would have these wild spikes

now tonight it looks like COMEX has it too

    ( wonder what the official high is 30 - 31 - 32 -33 - 34 -35 )

you would think with the millions raised in the IPO's

they could come up with a better algorithm to handle

these nutty moves when they occur ... no matter what the market

yes of course the market usually adjusts back to where it should be or a retracement of the spikeroo ... but these events always leave me scratching my head ... what is going on here ?

Could it be Globex's electronic trading coming into play?

  3. You're a victim.

  4. we are all sitting ducks ... basically ... whenever this happens

heck ... I am happy it happened ... I sold some gold $1-2 higher
than I would have thought I could ...

but I did not want to try and get greedy and go for more
in case the prices were busted or lowered from their prints
$3-4-5 higher than where I sold them

If you're talking about GCG7, Globex adjusted all trades above 632.0 to 632.0

  6. thanks for the update ...

I am happy to see the right thing was done via
COMEX ... and hope CBOT will be able to do
the same in the future if they have spikes
    like comex GC did tonight
