Columbus Day, Oct. 12, is a Federal Holiday (that seems like one we could get rid of). Banks will be closed, the stock market will be open but the Bond market will be closed.
Yeah, screw Columbus. We should rename it Obama day. Obama's done more in 9 months than all the Italians have done in world history.
According to the CME Group Interest Products at http://www.cmegroup.com/tools-information/holiday-calendar/files/2009-columbus-day.pdf the bond market is open on Monday. Please let me know if I am wrong.
it might be good to close the markets on martin luther kings day with all of the black traders taking the day off, there's no volume
