"Colombia has become the Israel of Latin America"

  1. The fact is that the USA doesn't need change in venezuela (chavez is a pretty good business ally ) but what we need is division.

    "divide and win"

  2. Give me a break. WSJ reported this morning that Chavez was supporting FARC financially as far back as 2001 not to mention they have been attempting to acquire uranium according to the paper.

FARC is nothing but a bunch of drug dealing, kidnapping terrorist thugs.

Venezuela and Ecuador are providing them with sanctuary for their hit and run kidnapping, bombings and murders.

Only a fool would defend FARC and to compare the situation in the Middle East to that of Latin America exposes the author's and your own ignorance.

  4. Another ZZZ, full of moral equivalency but with zero real ideas. This is exactly what frightens me about putting someone like an Obama in the White House. In the real world you seldom are dealing with easy choices involving no tradeoffs.

This however is one of the easier ones. We can allow Chavez, an openly marxist thug who has used his country's oil revenues to fund other marxists throughout latin america, subvert a democratic US ally, Colombia. Or we can nip the problem in the bud, as was done in Chile with Allende.

  6. Does he also address the track record of NOT squashing cockroaches? Don't we end up with Ayatollas, Ahmadinejad, Hamas, Chavez, Taliban and similar world "leaders"? Or the fact that not squashing cockroaches does not lead to good results either would get in the way of his story and confuse his readers a tad too much?

  7. cia loved the taliban in the eighties and worked together.

    blowback brought in the ayatollas.

    israel helped create hamas.

they already tried to assasinate chavez once and failed.

i have an idea... why don't we mind our own business.

oh yeah.. we created saddam and baited him into fighting kuwait with glaspie's green light.

now we want to meddle in kosovo? off the coast of lebanon? colombia? iran...syria... who next? china? russia?

who is going to pay for it? international bankers? they will finance both sides and all will be in debt to them for generations. for what?

why are we at this place now? must have something to do with our previous failed policies that all of you are so quick to endorse. wake up stupids.

  8. While your post was a complete red herring not worth debating, my point was different anyway. Pointing out that things go bad when we squash cockroaches and "forgetting" to point out that things go just as bad and often worse when we don't squash cockroaches makes the book and Martin's statement somewhat disingenuous and manipulative (deliberately or not) and distorts the harsh realities of the real world.

  9. what if we breed cockroaches... train them and back them for years... then it is our right to discredit them and squash them later on? LOL LOL LOL i say we raise cattle and chickens and feed our own.

  10. According to whom or where is the proof that we tried to assasinate Chavez or overthrow him?

Nobody ever questions these allegations because they are so outlandish.

Please provide some kind of proof beyond Hugo Chavez's own mouth.
