    Great post above! @vanzandt

If your kid doesn’t know what their passion is encourage world travel. It’ll ground how good they have it now as well as an appreciation for how other cultures approach problems.

Also, sometimes it takes working sucky deadend jobs to gain clarity.

Putting up a stake seems supportive. It’ll be more effective if it’s sourced from within them. Otherwise they will be doing whatever it is to please you. That includes any ideas you give them.

    With all that said,
Renovating houses can work out well. It will expose them to all the trades. It contains all the elements one needs to master entrepreneurship. It’s tangible and if one focuses more on affordable housing vs McMansions if fulfills a real need.

At first lot’s of hands on, then moving to contracts.

    Edit:
If he’s socially and environmental aware then also permaculture/natural building as applied to the above. Having hands in the earth can re-orient the listless.

  2. I believe that a modern person does not need a college. You only need the professional skills that you gain with work experience.

  3. This is a great example of the fact that modern technology allows you to abandon classical education.

Definitely plumbing. Just getting to say reamer, discharge, self rimming, nipple, ballcock... Then you get a free pass to walk around with the crack of your ass sticking out. Yep, definitely plumbing.

There are journeymen who's entire life ambition is to earn money. And then there are people who want to actually live life to the fullest. The former are happy with trade level education, no matter if it's an actual trade like a plumber or a software developer who knows about nothing but software development. The latter appreciate education for education's sake in addition to teaching a specific skill. Life's a lot more rewarding for the latter.
And even if you're absolutely practical focused, learning how to learn is always going to take you further than just learning a specific skill, and classical education is centered around learning out to learn, no matter if it's virtual or physically at a university.

Well spoken. Critical thinking (not fossilized skepticism) will open up unknown worlds.

And you can make college paperwork without a diploma if you simply click here for selecting a good process essay topics. You do not need to spend 4 years learning how to write useless papers. Go to work and gain skills.
