Collar Trades

Discussion in 'Trading' started by harrybachs, Nov 1, 2006.

  1. Hi all,

With this wealth of knowledge in the trading world on these boards. Can anyone direct me to a book on trading collars?

I have heard this is a good strategy for long term trading, and want to get some specifics on it.

I've been paper trading their methodolgy and have had consistent results when I actually placed real money. THeir methodolgy is low risk with unlimited profit potential. As always with any trading strategy............the stock direction dictates the success rate. Hope this helps.......happy trading

  3. Collars are synthetic verticals: limited risk/limited reward.

I know of no books that are collar-oriented per se, but learning the basics and fundamentals of options before moving on to collars is probably a good idea. You can't go wrong with a good introductory text e.g. Options as Strategic Investment

    Good luck!

Collars are synthetic short put spreads. There is a book from JL Lord that specifically deals with Collars but there is no need to read it.
