Collapse of the American Empire: Swift, Silent, Certain

Discussion in 'Economics' started by WallStWhizKid, Mar 10, 2010.

  1. If the US fails, Texas will pull out...it has everything to sustain its own economy, Alabama, Lousinna, will follow, as will many other southern states.

They have seaports, Energy, Construction, Steel, their own defense as far as Texas, and I bet that all the service men and women station in the south would stay and form their own Military. Texas alone has planes, tanks, bases, etc.

So, if the Fall comes, the break up the US will happen.

I don't think the Fall is gona happen...but if it does, All you in the NorthEast, Midwest and West are FUCKED!

  2. the US is not going down without seeing severe inflation rates

government doesn't want to have to deal with riots and that kind of shit, so they'll just print money and hand it out to people, enough to keep their shitty mouths shut

they really don't have any solutions, they can't solve the health care problem, they can't fix the shitty education system, you expect them to solve the economic issues

  3. I think silent in the sense that they won't let the system fall into pieces over night, they will try to maintain it through 'quantitative easing' and more 'quantitative easing'

    China? no way
Europe? they will prolly collapse before USA ever does.
    what else is out there?

    Military domination
    Currency domination
    Cultural domination

It's still the greatest place of all.

All this gloom and doom - there are still bears out there, we are going much higher.

I read Ferguson's piece in Foreign Affairs a few weeks ago. I liked the nod to sacred geometry and chaos. Was a really good article except I wanted him to take chaos and then link it with evolution, and therefor argue for more freedom to avert a fall of America. He mentions chaos and then forgets it, never getting to the bottom of nature's greatest invention. If he would have gone on with that thought, he would have uncovered what made the US so great. And what is destroying it. The intervention because of the fear of this chaos is destroying the evolution of our society.

A hypothetical. Take the greatest scientist in the world. He is born to the underclass in India or born in China. There is a land that says "be who you are, you are free." He is going to go there with his ideas and the country will benefit. His article misses all of this. Talking about stretched out armies, but what about loss of freedoms here? Look back at the greatness of Rome. Taking the best of all civilizations, government, philosophy, architecture and merging it into a super society. We have that here with much less oppression, and no credit crisis can destroy it. Only the over reach a nanny state can. To mention chaos theory and not the benefits of it, evolution, is crapola.

  7. before the highest building in a city comes crashing down due to earthquake does it ask; 'which building is going to stand the tallest after I fall'?

plus you give too much credit to the US, as if it really is the highest building in the city, yes US is an incompetent trillion dollar war machine and has advanced weapons of mass destruction, but the standard of living is shit, family has no meaning in the US, the government is your wife's husband, and your children's father

  8. if there is a country that doesn't understand the importance of the natural flow of chaos within a system, it is the US/UK complex, all thanks to the endless contradicting regulations, and even more laws, rules and regulations for broken ones, all the bureaucracy that has completely paralyzed the system, and a control freak government that just can't get enough

  9. you mean the multi trillion dollar military that failed so miserably in iraq

anyone who thinks we won't see a severe run on the USD within a few years is delusional

what culture, america doesn't have a culture, you're probably talking about american porn and hollywood movies, or feminism and broken families, or shit like

Actually you have to go more than 30 minutes inland anywhere in the US before you encounter culture. Fortunately that includes more than 99% of the country. You need to get out of the castro district, at least once in awhile.
