And now for a Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, on the passing of Colin Powell.
He was a decent and honorable man. We should all hope for success as he experienced. Lived a long and prosperous life. His worldly troubles have ended. RIP
They should've explained it this way: If he hadn't been fully vaccinated, he would've been dead a long time ago unless he lived in a bubble.
Powell gained some brownie points for breaking GOP ranks and speaking against their creeping fascism but the Iraq blunders can't be just brushed aside as the media would have us believe.
If there is an afterlife he has over a million people who died to meet him waiting. I assume they don't have shoes to pelt him with but it won't be a comfortable meeting I imagine.
Memories for the wrong reason, unfortunately. That bottle of white powder that Powell had in his hand is anthrax. And there were biological weapon facilities found in Iraq that were well capable of producing anthrax just so you know. So Powell was right in raising the issue of weapons of massive destruction there, biological weapons at least.
yeah, no: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/article/colin-powell-u-n-speech-was-a-great-intelligence-failure/ https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/16/magazine/colin-powell-iraq-war.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_biological_weapons_program Saddam Hussein (1937–2006) initiated an extensive biological weapons (BW) program in Iraq in the early 1980s, despite having signed (but not ratified until 1991) the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) of 1972. Details of the BW program—along with a chemical weapons program—surfaced only in the wake of the Gulf War (1990–91) following investigations conducted by the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) which had been charged with the post-war disarmament of Saddam's Iraq. By the end of the war, program scientists had investigated the BW potential of five bacterial strains, one fungal strain, five types of virus, and four toxins.[1] Of these, three—anthrax, botulinum and aflatoxin—had proceeded to weaponization for deployment.[2] Because of the UN disarmament program that followed the war, more is known today about the once-secret bioweapons program in Iraq than that of any other nation. As a result, the program no longer existed when it was falsely used as part of the fabricated American propaganda to justify the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the subsequent Iraq War. 2005 Iraq Survey Group report[edit] In 2005, the Iraq Survey Group — an international group composed of civilian and military experts — concluded that the Iraqi military BW program had been abandoned during 1995 and 1996 because of fear that discovery of continued activity would result in severe political repercussions including the extension of UN sanctions. However, they concluded, Hussein had perpetuated ambiguity regarding a possible program as a strategic deterrent against Iran.[24] Other conclusions were that the Mukhabarat continued to investigate toxins as tools of assassination, concealed its program from UNSCOM inspectors after the 1991 war, and reportedly conducted lethal human experimentation until 1994. Small-scale covert laboratories were maintained until 2003.[25]
