Cold Fusion part deux, short every oil, gas & utility on the planet??

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by tmarket, Jan 23, 2011.

  1. the main problem at this point is that no excess energy is produced and no Ni->Cu conversion takes place.

everything is at "unconfirmed" and "unreproducible" stages of research.

since when scientists use BELIEF in their studies and research??

  3. i have consulted with an expert in solid state chemistry. he tells me that cold fusion is BS. in other words, it has not been demonstrated with any reasonable certainty.

does not mean it won't be demonstrated at some point in the future.

  4. Shorty,

Your neighbor with the meth lab doesn't count as an expert:cool:

  5. Shorty,

Putting some symbols in a sentence is no use since 99.9 % of the swags in here don't know what they mean, hell you are probably just making it up. :p

  6. Shortie, you a right to some degree, but you are also wrong. Only about 25% of correctly conducted CF experiments yield excess energy. Only about 5% yield significant excess energy.

So yes, cold fusion cannot be reliably demonstrated because we don't understand the mechanism which results in these successful experiments.

However, the 5% of successful experiments still prove that cold fusion is real even if it is not reliable.

This site has a good overview of the state of research.

  7. the simpler explanation is that these "scientists" keep forging their data so it appears that the break-through is imminent and they only need a bit more time (and money). the money that funds the fundamental research is limited and the competition is stiff. somebody is always tempted to find a way to cheat the system. there are plenty of documented cases of fraud in science.

  9. You couldn't be further from the truth. Because of the stigma and controversy attached to Cold Fusion research, there basically isn't any funding for it. Most conservative research institutions will not fund it.

What your claiming is all these scientists spend their whole lives studying science and one day decide to conduct a CF experiment, fake the results and be ridiculed and never be taken seriously again, just to get their next round of funding.

If a scientist was going to do that, he would simply claim to invent a solar cell that was 3 times more efficient than current cells. He'd get all the funding he needed, without the stigma of CF research.

The reality is that people are reporting the results they get because they believe its important to publish what they observe.

    We understand the math.

Do you understand the ramifications of not being able to control the rate of converting mass to energy?

If you don't, consult the history books on Hiroshima and Nagasaki for fusion's idiot half-brother's uncontrolled, incomplete and dirty conversion...
