True, but one can participate in the movement in BTC with playing MSTR... and have to pay only the bid/ask spread... much less than "10-15% fees", not to mention the other positives.
And BlackRock is an agent of the US (Disclaimer: I've actually said this elsewhere earlier). But seriously, if Bitcoin ETFs got what they wanted, shouldn't Bitcoin be trading higher by now?
Suit yourself man. Although I did pick up some Coinbase, right now it's tanking but there should be some good things coming it's way.
I was a bit too early in shorting more PUTs on Coinbase (doh!). But I can wait a long time till expiry... I expect a lot other drama to hit us in cryptoworld before then. Alex Mashinsky trials will be over and sharding will be happening on Ethereum by the time my contracts expire.
Patience, mate. The ETF's are 17 days old, still absorbing funds and the selling of GBTC I know not your trading style but if you can possibly extrapolate for the next 3 months, might give you an idea where we might be (post halving in mid-April) and I'm 99.98% sure it's way higher than $43k/btc
John, then let me also ask you a small favor. Until BTC crosses above 69,000, stop making all these projections about bitcoin and how much it can run up to. No more hyping up Bitcoin (which, sorry to say, is what it looks like). Once it crosses above 69,000, you are free to say anything you want, but not before. That way, your words carry more weight.
You have it, schizo, no hyping large number prices for bitcoin until it goes above $69k As an aside, been thinking of signing off for good from ET once bitcoin hits 100 grand, I've overstayed my welcome long ago, and I might be one of the most hated posters on ET, it surprises me I have not been banned ...and at $43k, it's surreal for me to think I would still be defending bitcoin against the worthless, scam, ponzi, tulip, made out of thin air, made up software, bubble arguments I fail to see additional digit(s) in price would change that
I have a little bit of hate for you. You have been around since 2017, and I remember being mad at you each time bitcoin added another 1k as you were calling it out back in 2020 or so. I just wish I listened more. The gift of 4k back in March of 2020 I'm sad to have missed. I wish I got on board just a little sooner. That Covid crypto bull run was absolutely epic. Even Lyn Alden I think was starting to pay attention around this time, and was getting in at around 5-10k. I know we are still quite early based on so much hate here at ET, but got dammit, I have owned silver since 2012 so I was 100% on board with this whole fiat collapse narrative. It just sucks to have not done just a little bit of research sooner, or come across someone who tried to drill it into my head. I have so many memories of hearing about bitcoin, even back to 2009 and thinking I didn't want to fry my laptop by leaving it on all night to mine bitcoin. In 2012, I thought with it at $100, I could buy 10 with the $1000 I was pumping into silver every month. But alas, I think what stopped me at the time was that I didn't know exactly where to buy it, or fear of legal trouble by participating in a crime since it was just used to buy drugs and such. I gotta tell you, it sucks to have come somewhat close but not close enough to jump in with both feet, and now be stuck with the feeling of being years late and millions of dollars not captured. Now saying all that, I have tried to tell people at work, to tell my brother and his wife, but nobody wants to listen. So trying to orange pill someone is a waste of time. And I have been here for many years under different names, and the crypto forum was always here, but somehow, it just never clicked. I wasted so much money trying to trade the markets, and if all I did was buy some bitcoin and sit on it, I too could be retired like you!
LOL you can take comfort in knowing that I'm not very far behind you. Anyway, stick it out until there's a mob calling for your crucifixion. Who knows, you might even get resurrected in 3 days.
I remember running into bitcoin early when it was around $20 or so, was trying to purchase a hacking software that was only available on a sketchy website (not darknet) and it was only accepting bitcoins but then I discovered Backtrack (now Kali), free software I thought bitcoin was too expensive at the time, why was it worth more than $1 each, lol The next time I ran into Bitcoin, I was looking for it, read up on it, people saying it's a bank account, and I remember thinking it's like the Jason Bourne (first one), an internet bank, I was carrying the whole blockchain on a USB flash drive, it was less than 10 GB at the time, all my "savings" in a USB Didn't read the Bitcoin Standard until 2021... I tried convincing my friends and family in 2013.. no one ever got it. I don't try to convince anyone anymore, even they ask me how it's going, I just say it's going well Some friends got in 2017, many went the altcoin route, as far as I know, they all lost money. Same with 2020 cycle I had read a lot of books on investment psychology, helped me to handle the volatility, but I fucked up the 2013 and 2017 bull market cycle even though 2017 was not a complete loss... Excited for this bull market cycle because of so many tailwinds... will stop there as not to hype big numbers
