Why wouldn't the start using natural gas, which is trading at a discount relative to oil and the cost isn't appreciating nearly as fast? it's hard to take any financial group's analysis of anything for how wrong they always seem to be, even with their own balance sheets...

About six billion tons of coal was mined worldwide in 2007, he said. New coal-fired power plants will increase demand by more than one billion tons by 2012. Renewables, he said, are growing, but not quickly enough to become a significant share in the coming decades.
