I think I know why this is much easier for him to handle than the deposition. In court if you lie you can be charged with perjury. There's zero consequences to lying here. Lying comes second nature to this guy. This format is well within his wheelhouse.
And, judging by the applause, the town hall audience apparently came hungry for a heaping helping of horse shit.
If Congress wants to end the era of Trump, they could make lying to the public as an elected official illegal. Of course they would all get arrested, just not have as many charges as Trump (other than his protege Santos).
I know the GOP put up Byron Donalds as a prop for Speaker, but watching him on CNN it's clear that this dude is talented (in the political sense). I would not be surprised if he's the GOP nominee in 2028.
He never had to do that in public regularly....i think running the Apprentice for so many years taught him how to handle TV and be quick on his feet and now we are all paying for liking that show haha
With Trump voters they are so weak minded the name recognition of "Donalds" might actually help That was the basis of the movie the Distinguished Gentleman when Eddie Murphy's character got elected as he has the same name as a deceased long term incumbent
Let's just be clear that it's not a gift. It's a pathology. To be fair, the first season or so of the show was okay. That is, until you realized that he tended to fire people who did not bring chaos and color to the show. He didn't really give a shit about a person's ability to do anything other than entertain. He's is and always was a sellout. As for the audience? Seriously, they should build a roach motel big enough for Trump and his ardent followers. Now THAT would be MAGA.
