CNN SUCKS!!!

  1. True somewhat except Fox has viewership and MSNBC does not. There are far more dems watching Fox than are watching MSNBC. Not many conservatives or republicans watching MSNBC.

As much as the lefties like to bitch about Elon, lots of them have left TV altogether and live on Twitter and their smartphone feeds. And if you are dumb enough to watch the View you are dumb enough to get all your news from Tik Tok.

  2. Elon should buy MSNBC. Fire everyone and then fill all of the time slots with conservative podcasters.

  3. Whoa!!!! Stop the presses. I just surfed past CNN and I saw them do a report that included BOTH sides of the story. I have never seen that before.

They launched into some sorry arse story about blacks or the DC government or someone has brought a lawsuit against Amazon because their prime delivery is much slower in DC neighborhoods. So they cried racism over that for a bit then they did a halfway decent report on Amazon's rebuttal where they admitted adopting policies and delivery strategies that had the side-effect of slower deliveries but they were needed to ensure the safety of drivers -basically- alluding to the fact that DC is a dangerous place where you have to pick your routes carefully and other factors.

You guys see what just happened there? Both sides of the story.

It is too bad that they are trying out journalism after having exhausted all other possibilities of avoiding it. It's too late. They are reporting from the deck of the Titanic at this point.

Yeah... Elon can show up there with a sink, tank the value of the company by over 70% in under a year, and chase away nearly all the advertisers while pushing neo-Nazi content.

  5. You say that like it would be a bad thing.

If Elon wants to use his cash to tank CNN into oblivion (ideally before the midterm elections) I am all for it. I am not worried about Elon being homeless if CNN tanks.

  6. CNN still trying to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. Trying that lame digital strategy again and trying to argue that that it actually puts them ahead of the others in their visioning. Heh. Tell that to Chris Wallace who left his big bucks host job at Fox to go over to CNN for some digital podcast or something. Show lasted two days. Chris was reshuffled and then canned two weeks ago.

One smart move they made though was to downgrade Jim Acosta and send him to some penal colony program in a Siberian time slot.
In Trump's first term CNN egged him on to do nude mud wresting every day with Trump and he loved it. CNN's ratings did not and they were too stupid to put an end to it. Looks like they decommissioned him from that kind of work now thinking that he is no match for Trump. Smart, for once.

CNN going down though. If their digital strategy flops right out of the gate just as it did last time with Chris Wallace, then what? Jeff Bezos buying them out, that's what. Or some theme like that. Maybe Oprah will buy it and have Harry and Meghan do "lifestyle" programming 24/7. That would be a barn-burner I am sure.

CNN announces layoffs as it revamps its schedule and digital strategy

Ultimately News agencies can't make money as stand alone entities. Modern day journalism is clickbait entertainment. There's no serious news reported anymore. Just pre-verified opinion pieces that fit the news agencies agenda.

When CNN was a part of Ted Turner's media empire it was subsidized by his sports & local media successes. MSNBC & Fox News do all right mainly because they have abandoned un-biased news and they just report on news that is favorable to their political leaning viewers. Extremism sells well.

The glory days of news media was when those entities were owned by much larger conglomerates like NBC being owned by GE. Local media survived on the want ads section & advertising. The internet giants completely took that monetization away, mainly Google & Craig's List.

Financial media seem to do pretty well like Bloomberg, WSJ, CNBC, etc. I think if there is money to be made by the viewers from information it seems to do well. The same is true for sports betting media or fantasy sports.

Jim Acosta announces he's leaving CNN

  10. Beautiful. We saw it coming. As I said a few days agon "Acosta has been assigned to a "Siberian time slot." They probably put his desk next to the ice machine too to move him along even faster.

I also said that was a smart move for CNN and they do not make many smart moves. Acosta would have started right in nude mud wrestling with Trump and his new press secretary thinking he was going to win. He is not going to win.

New podcast coming right up. That seems to be the elephant burial ground for ex-anchors these days.
