There are a lot of funny/not so funny things to remember about that deal. A couple of the tards here got into some "what's the difference between this and that" arguments. Well let me give a reminder of one "difference." There was and still is absolutely a law on the books that requires the president to consult with congress before releasing anyone from gitmo. Even the inspector general- for whatever agency reviewed it- said that Obama clearly violated the law and Obama admitted that he did. BUT vigorously asserted that they had to take emergency action because the beau bird-dogs health was deteriorating fast and his life was at risk. Then when the traitor got to the military hospital in Germany they did a complete medical evaluation and said that the only medical problem he had was some skin problems and gingivitis but was otherwise good to go. Which he did. And for his gingivitis and skin rashes we exchanged him for animals who were known to have killed Americans and were in some of the most senior taliban positions- because the traitor was in imminent danger of dying from gum disease.
