Which play? RIMM? The RIMM calls I shorted the day before earnings collapsed over 60% the next day and I got out. I never use Cramer as a sole indicator. I put alot more research into my trades than just blindly fading Cramer. I like the Moron Index (Yahoo message boards) alot better as a fade. I should have put a bit more confidence in the Moron Index when I made the mistake of putting a bearish play on SBUX today. Too many SBUX bears on there, I messed up.
c'mon...are you kidding me? Cramer was good when he first showed his mug on cnbc in like '96 or so. I think he figured out that he could PUMP on TV. I mean, after all, he is a trader. He's fading anyone who will listen to his garbage. The guy is a hack, he throws a bone out once in a while to keep his credibility . If you listen to him, you'll get murdered!
he doesnt fade his picks. he is above board with his trading. his action aleart portfolio is there for all to see. his real problem is that he is an egomaniac who lets his mouth get ahead of his brain. he shoots from the hip and doesnt do any real research on his picks and never uses charts or stops. lets analyze a recent pick. aapl. mistake no 1. he told people to buy it the day before earnings for a scalp after the stock was up 400%.. 2. no plan of escape and never uses stops. 3. rode the stock down 6 points and heard some negitive chatter then bailed leaving mom and pop investor buried.
vhehn, I just wonder how above board any of these clowns are....the trades he posts could be money he has under management. He could be getting kick backs from IB's or making his own trades on the side. I'm just speculating obviously, but the street is a den of thieves, and always will be. However, you are probably right in your analysis...I'm a conspiracy theorist all the way! Either way, he is mostly a contrarian indicator!
great cramer advice tonight. he told a caller to buy 1 share of sears and if it pulls back 20 points buy 1 more share and if it pulls back 45 to 100 buy 1 more share.
Do not listen to hype. If someone is telling you to buy something for the long term, it simply means that they own it themselves..Otherwise, why the hell would they tell you? Remember folks, we live in a world where selfishness rules. Dont be fooled.
I actually like that strategy for SHLD. Once you take a look at who's running the company, and their business plan going foreward, this company could very well be the next Berkshire Hathoway. This is a better bet than most other trades IMO, heck, most probably spend more money on lottery tickets in a year, and this trade has a positive expectation.
