cnbc ‘freaking out’ over low ratings.

  1. This is why I switched from cnbc to Bloomberg: it's Sunday evening and futures are down 20 handles from Friday's close. Looking for news, I turn to Bloomberg and see the crawl with headlines coming out of Europe, along with live futures quotes (which they provide 24/7). What's on cnbc? A fricking infomercial, and nothing but more pre-recorded programming scheduled 'til probably 2, 3am ET. At 7pm Bloomie starts live commentary from Asia, while cnbc has a home workout plan infomercial.

Just shows you where the focus is for each of these 2 stations.

  2. at night you need to switch to cnbw the markets are freaked by the French election. They will be talking about it all night. I'm a nice guy and I like all people from all different cultures, but I can only take so much of those foreign accents, especially when the British call Barack Obama Baraaaaack Obamer.

Like do they call bock beer back beer?

    Johanne Sebastion Back?

  3. I was watching a British cooking show and I had to turn it off. They kept calling shish kabobs shish kababs with a short a. I mean I know they are spelled shish kababs, but it's prounounced shish kabobs. It is really annoying.

Yeah you gotta watch CNBC World for evening/early morning futures/fx, switch over to regular CNBC at 4am for worldwide exchange. Or, just stay on bloomberg all night.

  6. Yep. Monitor it on Bloomberg all night if you have basic cable. Like I said, they show live futures 24/7.

To Oldtime - I don't get cnbcw, but thanks for the tip.

Margaret Brennan is no longer at Bloomberg.

Gigi Stone is probably not the newest - she's been with Bloomberg for months, if not years.

  10. Wow, I just saw the announcement about Maggie. Now what is she going to do ? And I wonder what was the real cause for her departure......I doubt it was over money.
