CNBC $1,000,000 challenge

Discussion in 'Trading' started by taowave, Feb 7, 2007.

  1. ROTFLMAO!!!! More obfuscation to hide the fact that you couldn't trade your way out of a paper bag.

My original prediction still stands: NO WAY will you enter this under your own name AND trade for the duration of the contest, because it would show what you're really made of...

    These contests are foolish.

Most of the time idiots just go ALL IN on one story stock (in play) and get lucky, after all it's just a game with play money so why not gamble?

Consistent trading could not be further away from this.

  3. Amen Joab I couldn't agree more . That's why I am taking this interesting spin on the challenge.

Obviously this is not how anyone invests. But what if one did? I've often dreamed of winning the lottery and being behind that table being interviewed and when they ask what are you going to do with the Mega Millions I would say I am going to put it ALL on one risky stock! Of course the papers would be scrambling to find out which stock... at which point i might reveal my stonedinvesting bio play of the year! (if I had one)

The point is I am getting together a mini conglomerate and we are going to invest REAL FUNDS the same way you play this game. So if that turns out to be every last dollar on the most risky play-- so be it. lets see what happens in real life as well as in silly games!

  4. I agree but Jack's said in this thread that playing this wouldn't be too difficult. So I for one would like to see him back up his claims.

  5. Where's The "A Team?" Why haven't Jack's minions encouraged him to show his stuff?

Better yet, why doesn't the entire "A Team" (Jack, Spyder, MAK, nwbprop, etc.) enter this to get international acclaim? I can't believe that you'd pass up this opportunity. Unless, of course, you're afraid to venture outside the land of make believe.

  8. In all seriousness, this may be a good thread to help out the younger people.

Maybe we can post timely trades for them.

Getting a little fame and fortune never hurts.

Maybe we should do a warm up for a week or so ahead of the first trading cycle of competition.

Journal III should be helpful to most.

Thanks for the humor trader666. I am not registered using your name.

I'll be away for he Expo days see you next Wednesday.
