Car thefts are so bad... that you should just leave your car keys at your front door so your car is easier to steal. This is how nice, polite Canadians act. Sincerely, your Police Department. Toronto police spark outrage for telling residents to leave their car keys at the front door to avoid thieves breaking in after thefts soared 150% Toronto Police Service (TPS) Constable Marco Ricciardi advised residents to leave their car keys at the front door to avoid break-ins This bizarre advice has left residents and social media users outraged Toronto residents have taken great pains in protecting their vehicles, as an estimated 90,000 cars are stolen each year in the city https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...outrage-thievesJustin-Trudeaus-woke-bail.html
Toronto is a very ethnically diverse city...similar to New York, Chicago or Los Angeles but Toronto has less crime. Looking at homicide rates in other U.S. cities, which are measured as the number of homicides per 100,000 people, Toronto is 18th with a rate of 1.81 per 100,000 in Canada. This is considerably safer compared to U.S. cities like Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, which see about 20 homicides per 100,000 people. Yet, why would he recommend leaving car keys at the front door instead of just recommending leaving the car keys on the front seat with the doors unlocked? Also, auto interior security cameras are becoming more popular...I wouldn't be surprised if auto-makers began putting interior security cameras as a standard safety feature and anti-theft deterrent. wrbtrader

And I thought the 600-pound beaver in the room was someone's Canadian girlfriend. Lack of ambition in Canada creating '600-pound beaver in the room': Shopify president https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/lac...eaver-in-the-room-shopify-president-1.7058665 The president of e-commerce giant Shopify Inc. wants Canada to address a problem he calls "the 600-pound beaver in the room." Harley Finkelstein says that problem is a lack of ambition that's permeating the Canadian psyche and weighing down the country's tech sector. He says the lack of ambition has left Canadian companies with a reputation for being acquired while their U.S. competitors grow more dominant by taking them over. Finkelstein instead wants Canadian companies to focus on striving for more rather than settling for being acquired. He also adds that he wants more companies to be headquartered in Canada rather than the country being treated like a branch plant for bigger organizations. Finkelstein's remarks came in a conversation with astronaut Chris Hadfield during the opening night of the Elevate technology conference in Toronto, where "Dragons' Den" star Arlene Dickinson and Olympic champion breaker Phil Wizard also took the stage.
