At some point in time, it will probably become illegal to read publicly from the Bible or Quran, because the scriptures opposing homosexuality will be considered hate speech. That's why I'm firmly against outlawing it. Like I said before, the 1A produces some unsavory results at times, but it's necessary for preserving freedom. Freedom matters a lot more than someone's feelings.

For example. If we allow assault weapons, it must follow that'll we'll be more likely to allow personal anti aircraft weapons. Then personal nuclear weapons will follow.

It sounds crazy, but that's the way the world is trending. There was a guy in the UK that was sent to prison for teaching his dog to do a Nazi salute and posting it to youtube. You read that right, he was sent to prison for posting a video of a dog to social media.

I just hope that level of insanity never happens here.

Well, attacking Muslim retrograde beliefs is Islamophobic, but we should jail those w/retrograde Christian beliefs. Generally this is the Scandinavian double standard I've observed.

wish it were a fallacy, but people pointed out exactly what's happening to that Canadian dad when that law was passed I want to say a year ago. The slippery slope fallacy was invoked back then.

We've debated this before. If everything fell down some imaginary slope, then everything would always end up at the extremes. Extremes are the initial goals. Step by step is the method people use to get there.

The fact that you're at a forum that does in fact delete hate speech and ban members (temporary / permanently) when other anonymous members clicks on the "Report" button of a message post...

It shows that in fact you're willing to be censor or help to report others so that they'll be censor.

Simply, no matter where you go or what resources you use...those in charge have their limits and will only tolerate so much...they eventually will decide what you can or can't say / write on their platform.

Yet, they're betting that not only will you tolerate it...they're going to show you advertisements so that they can benefit (profit) via your use of their platform even if you do not buy a single thing and even while you complain on their platform about limits on free speech.

This is why anyone that joins an online platform should always read the fine print as in read the "terms of use policy"....most don't bother to read it until after there's a problem. :D
As I stated...someone has decided what you can say / write or can not say / write at this forum and you're at a forum in the United States, on a U.S. server and owned by a U.S. citizen.

I would call that irony or maybe hypocrisy.
