The occupation is starting to lose its small fire without more funding and the Republicans have shown their face to possibly be in support of the Freedom Convoy...maybe even behind some of the funding. "This refund will happen automatically — you do not need to submit a request. Donors can expect to see refunds within 7-10 business days," GoFundMe said in its tweet. https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/flo...undme-over-ottawa-trucker-donations-1.5769403 ---------- In other news, Quebec's winter festival seems normal (I was there today for a few hours)...louder than a handful of truckers and about +1000 protesters a few blocks away near the National Assembly building. My condo is within walking distance of the National Assembly. Most people I saw there seem to be like me...passing thru on their way to the Winter Festival considering Blvd René Lévesque is one of the popular routes (not the only one) into the Winter Festival. Mainly just a lot of government businesses in the area and all the other nearby tourist areas with small stores that are nearby...no protesters, no trucks, and seems like any typical busy Winter Festival night because the Police has done an excellent job in keeping the trucks/protesters out of those areas. This is a popular area for protests and it's the location for many historical protests along with being the area for Canada's most famous battles between the French and British (Plains of Abraham is nearby)...people in this area know how to live with protest. That tells me that the Police have given the Freedom Convoy a street (a few blocks of Blvd René Lévesque) near the National Assembly. Protesters and truckers dressed properly for the cold weather...a lot of them begin leaving as it gets dark and a lot colder as the temperature drops dramatically at night and the wind picks up dramatically too off the mighty St. Lawrence river although the river is along the lower area. https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/21-infr...-version-of-freedom-convoy-protests-1.5769448 The Winter Festival mainly is an event enjoyed by kids and families. A friend of mine that's a manager at Le Château Frontenac (several blocks away) said business is normal and quiet...it was that way this morning for me and my youngest teenagers when we went out for our usual walk on the weekend in which we end it by stopping by the Le Château Frontenac for our croissants. Everybody else...having a good time at the Winter Festival. wrbtrader
Blog/WEF Posted Feb 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong Schwab has publicly bragged that he has “penetrated” cabinets around the world to force his economic philosophies upon the people circumventing any right of the people to vote. This was at his talk at Harvard. He has infiltrated Harvard and has brought his agenda to be taught there. This is what he is doing. He is trying to infiltrate not just governments, but also all the universities to indoctrinate the next generation into his eyes. He has also created his Global Shapers program to also reshape the world into his Marxist vision. https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/world-news/wef/schwab-admits-he-controls-trudeau-cabinet-of-canada-now-the-world/
One of the best drinks at the Winter Festival is a Caribou...I had two hot ones from a nearby sugar shack and I let my kids each have one. I saw a woman walking among the truckers/protesters and encouraging them to go join the Winter Festival celebrations including giving them directions on where to buy their tickets for entry and giving them free Caribou on ice (looks like the image below) instead of a hot Caribou. Caribou What is a Caribou? Anyone who lives in Québec will tell you that a caribou is pretty much the greatest drink ever created. Caribou is similar to a mulled wine and for the most part contains red wine, brandy, cinnamon sticks, and of course maple syrup. It is served everywhere at carnival, hot and cold. Caribou is guaranteed to ward of those winter by warming you up from inside out. wrbtrader
The Freedom Convoy has now started to listen to the people or they've realized on their own what is not working... Freedom Convoy protesting here in Québec City has ended or moved on to some other city. Why ? There's no damn border crossing in Québec City and the vaccine mandates they're protesting involved the mandates being required to cross the United States/Canada border on both sides. https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/quebec-...ends-organizers-say-they-ll-be-back-1.5770008 It's possible the noise from the nearby Winter Festival was drowning out the noise from the truckers/protesters, maybe its the snowplow trucks plowing in their trucks, maybe it was thousands of Winter Festival visitors traveling thru the protesters camp to get to the Festival and now really caring because the protest was misplaced or maybe it was the ice-cold Caribou drinks being offered to them on a winter day instead of the hot drinks... Or maybe it was the local residences in that area of Québec City who put out the word that they were considering taking up arms (weapons) against the truckers/protesters ??? The truckers/protestors now realized their issue has always been with the vaccine mandates involving truckers crossing the border. Thus, their protests should then be at the borders. There lies the problem for them...protesting the border is no longer a Canada issue. It then becomes a United States issue too in which the U.S. can not get their consumer goods and it kills tourism traffic. Simply, now the Republican back support that included funding of the Freedom Convoy...starts to hurt United States residences. Oddly, both countries had started re-opening (removing/easing restrictions) before the Freedom Convoy. Here in Québec City it was decided a month ago that "ALL" restrictions will be removed on February 14th. Houston...the Freedom Convoy now has a problem. It's not complicated...get tested if you do not want to be vaccinated even though +90% of the truckers were already vaccinated prior to the mandates due to requirements from their private employer (not the government). wrbtrader
The Canadian Freedom Convoy has attracted the attention of U.S. politicians debating their own country’s coronavirus protocols and drawn support from Republican figures including former president Donald Trump. Responding to some of those critics Monday, Canada’s public safety minister, Marco Mendicino, said: “We’re Canadian. We have our own set of laws. We will follow them.” It will be a costly political move by the Republicans of the United States to continue being involved with the Freedom Convoy now that the protests have started to migrate back to the border crossings that impact both Canada, and the United States especially when we're talking about a good percentage chunk of goods and thousands of health care workers living in Canada that are employed in U.S. hospitals near the border...traveling via the route of the border crossings. Canadian officials caution against ‘foreign interference’ as U.S. Republicans back ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/02/08/canada-freedom-convoy-truckers-desantis-paxton/ Regardless, it had already been decided in early January that Covid restrictions will be removed or eased by early February. Here in Quebec, it will be removed on February 14th...something I learned about back on January 8th. Just as similar, many states in the U.S. are removing or easing their Covid restrictions including school face mask wear mandates now that the Covid "hospital numbers" are dramatically declining from the restrictions but provinces and states are cautioning their residences that restrictions will come back if the Covid numbers start dramatically spiking again because of a new Variant of Concern while at the same time telling people its time to learn to live with Covid and accept the consequences that come with it... To me, that's a warning to those not vaccinated or that can not be vaccinated considering so far...the Variants of Concern have been birthed in other countries prior to causing chaos in the United States or Canada.
What happened to all the Rightsters here who always say that black folks should be respectful and comply with the police so they don't get shot? Different rules for surly old honking white guys who start the conversation with "Fuck off!" I guess.
Hilarious... They forgot that the mandates had already been planned about a month ago to end in February if the Omicron wave was declining. Thus, the protest timing so close to the removal/easing of the mandates says one thing...stupidity. Guess what, the Omicron wave is declining because the restrictions did their job...now provinces are removing/easing their mandates. Regardless, honking horns to harass the community is not a protest right while being allowed to peacefully protest in the community. wrbtrader
