I placed 5th, .. kinda grueling. That’s the last challenge I’ll enter. Brain is fried, took a short last trade, but looks like clerical tick progression on the close, created outlier in dispersion. Traded from phone last few trades.
My trades in real acct. Held short overnight. So last trade is net short, last night short was from 82.
Hey man, that's impressive nonetheless. And even though you say it will be the last one you'll try, in around 6 months when they hold another one, you'll be back in. Why not? It's free. (And your brain is fried only probably because they happened to hold it on "Trade deal week", one of the biggest weeks of price action one could expect across all the markets they allowed you trade in the simulator. As if the CME knew beforehand this would occur, hehe.)
OMG...greater than 190 trades on that cruel CME Group trade execution platform and then you did a few more via your mobile device. I know they've been getting complaints lately about their platform. Hopefully, they'll make some dramatic changes by the next trade against a pro challenge. You must have gone thru a few of those little plastic bottles of Visine. Glad to see a few Elitetrader.com members (three members...one prefers to remain unnamed) on that leader board. That's 30% of the leader board occupied by members of ET. Baron should bake you people some cookies considering you three are giving Elitetrader.com some exposure on the CME. Note: Huge leader board movements by #1, #3 and #7. In fact, #7 hit one heck of a trade on the last day of the competition. wrbtrader
The CME should bake cookies for everyone that participated, considering that the two dialog boxes they have pop up, which messes up your timing on entries and exits. And the second dialog box is a new one. Buggers, they should have a toggle that allows you to "not see these boxes again".
I got stuck around 10K profit and all day it was just fluctuating around that. So when I thought Palladium would bounce I went in heavy long and went down with the ship. It was fun though. What was actually more fun to see other players and trying to guess what they were doing. When I woke up early this morning, the Palladium boys were up maximum. Freethinkin was at 98K, had he cashed out, he would have won the contest right there. The other guy IanB had the exact same position because their difference stayed the same during the whole day. Captain and First Mate, they went down with Palladium losing I would say half of their unrealized gains. Then in the last 5-10 minutes, the board kept changing like crazy. Spectre (congrats by the way) was 2nd then 3rd by just a100 bucks difference. It was great entertainment overall. I also learnt a few things and discovered new assets.
Props to the 3 ET. Nice. I struck out swinging hard for the fences. Landed somewhere in the 700s. Overnight, agree it seemed an odd week to hold a contest. Impending Trade deadlines, impeachment vote, rollover, fed day, etc. but I thought intraday movement was good in the indices.
