Word of wisdom: Apparently futures and options both count together toward the 10 contracts limit. So if you have a 5 ES futures position already, you can only buy/sell 5 more ES futures options. Earlier I thought you could do 10-10 each. That also explains the conundrum earlier. Since they don't differentiate between future and options, it is most likely those winners were trading the options, it just wasn't mentioned on the Leaderboard.
I traded 10 GCG0 contracts, and was then able to trade another 5 NQZ9 contracts (but not 10) so I'm not sure the above is true. I think the 10 is per asset and how much more you can trade of something else might depend on the amount of margin you have left.
Maybe I wasn't clear but that is what I meant. Actually, I did mention ES futures and ES options, so yes, I was clear.
I decided I'm not gonna use the contest sim, but I will be following along in a different sim that is a lot more realistic and has an order book. I said I'd do the challenge which carries the implication that I'd show my trading results. I feel if I don't show my results now it would be going back on my word (guess I'm still going back on it a bit though). I'm using a scalping esque style, the way the contest sim works would significantly change the mechanics of my trading and results. I'm doing this basically just to practice so there's no point in using it, never had a chance of winning outside getting lucky punting, I've only been trading futures for a week and trading in general for 3 months. Below are my results for today. 200 mostly with trading one lots with a couple of two lots thrown in. Most of my profits were one tick scalps. I wanna "lock in" these wins (I realize they're not much). Wont be trading with this account for the rest of the day but will continue paper trading various instruments... might come back to it after hours (wrote this part of the post earlier today, stopped trading the account 15 minutes in). 3rd screen shot contains some executions. 4th picture is from another account I'm using for more practice, up 575 today in that. (1st picture is after trading (15 mins into open), 2nd picture is right before I started trading. Mixed up the order)
Spectre, I'm sure you've looked at your trade log for those 58 trades. Is the trade log just as confusing as the trade execution platform ? Also, you solely focus on the simulator challenge or you're trading real money trades too in ES and NQ outside the challenge ? wrbtrader
I don't look at the log, the platform itself is not bad, I hold swing position, and its interesting when the sim trades confirm the swing position bias.
