Can somebody please clarify the shift of nymex energy contracts over to globex? Does this mean that the full-size crude contracts that were once only pit traded will now be traded electronically? Therefore competing with the mini-crude QM?
in time the full sized contract will be offered via globex. my understanding from the press release is a gradual release with the mini contract coming to globex first (Q2) with more contracts (and new contracts) coming over time.
you can trade the full contract via screen right now via Nymex access, but not during pits hours. soon everybody will be able to trade the full contract via Globex instead access and during pit hours. I think that soon nymex will be a hibrid place like the CBOT and CME.. I think that those energy Option contracts will boom with those guys on the floor soon.
