This was trading on the Russell 1000 since late 2003, now in the s&p 500 as of late yesterday. I read somewhere that companies added tend to underperform once added to the index. I'm not sure if that included companies that were coming from another benchmark or not. Anyone else read that study (or done similar work)or am I imagining things again? [edit: it may have been the Hirsch's [sic], the good folks over at the stock trader's almanac now that i think about it]
