CMCmarkets

  1. Does anyone use CMC markets and if so, what's your opinion on them? Everything I'm hearing seems too good to be true.

I used them (I'm in Canada). Too many requotes, pretty wide spreads at times, and the comissions are high (as high as $40). FYI, I used them for stocks, not indexes, forex or commodities.

  3. I assumed something was wrong with them considering I know no trader that uses them and it seems like what they're offering is way too good to be true.

The leverage is good though, but like I said, why would you want to pay up to 40 bucks a trade when most brokers are 10 or less?

  5. Surdo, I wasn't planning on trading anything but equities with CMCmarkets

Were you using CFD's with them or just plain stock?
If you used CFD's what is you opinion of them? It has always sounded like bucketing to me.

CFDs. I liked the fact that there is no uptick rule for shorting, but that's about it. And the leverage, but as we know, that's a double-edged sword. Decent charts, the interface is not good imo though. Wide spreads, high comissions and frequent re-quotes when you buy or sell.

Who takes the other side of the CFD trades? Was it CMC?

    Thanks

They claim that they DON'T. Who knows.

  10. Yes, I think CMC is the market maker and broker in this case.
