    Wrong and wrong.

Southern confederacy was based on conservative principles. Things like states rights and nullication are vestiges of the old confederacy still at the core of conservative political philosophy to this day. We see these issues in their challenges to voting rights, housing and employment matters.

Lincoln was absolutely a liberal in the truest form, maybe that that this country has ever seen. His statement at Gettysburg declaring this country’s government to be “of, by and for the people” upset the entire Apple cart of what this country is. He was a fundamentalist for equal protection under the law and was absolutely progressive in using the government for public works and public services.

There was nothing conservative about old Abe. He was the anti-conservative of his time.

“I am not a Know-Nothing. That is certain. How could I be? How can any one who abhors the oppression of negroes, be in favor of degrading classes of white people? Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we begin by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes." When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty-to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy.” - Abraham Lincoln

It is amusing that you accuse Steve Scalise of being a racist based on a fabricated blog post by "liberal Louisiana blogger Lamar White, Jr., who posted a story alleging that Scalise was an "honored guest" at the European-American Unity and Rights Organization conference held at a Best Western in Metairie, La., on May 17-18"

Steve Scalise has honorably served in the House and was shot by left-wing nutcase James Hodgkinson -- yet the liberals make every attempt including fabrication to demean him. Liberals should be ashamed of their continual attempts to smear honorable people.

Politifact considers the assertion about Scalise false. While he was in the same hotel, he attended an anti-tax event prior the European-American Unity and Rights Organization conference. At worst some of the Euro members may have attended the anti-tax session. He was not an "honored guest" at their conference.

    https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-...e-know-about-steve-scalise-attending-white-p/

"Readers first tipped us off to Scalise’s alleged involvement with the Duke group on Dec. 29, 2014, hours after a Louisiana blogger first broke the story. Later, Scalise, a Louisiana Republican and House majority whip, admitted, to a degree, that he spoke at the rally, though he also said he doesn’t remember doing so and denounced the group. An organizer for the event now says Scalise didn’t even attend. So far, we’ve found no videos or photographs from the event."

A person who accepts an invitation to speak from David Dukes right hand man would not be elected by democrats, only republicans.

In that telling, Scalise may not have attended the actual conference, but he spoke to a group at the hotel on the same day at the invitation of Knight, a man close enough to Duke to organize a white empowerment conference for the former Klan leader.

There’s no evidence Scalise was an "honored guest" at the EURO event as White, the Louisiana blogger, alleged. But Scalise has admitted he spoke to the group and has not denied other details published by White, while also claiming he does not remember attending

So Scalise was hosting an anti-tax event a tthe hotel and some members of the Euro conference may have attended. There are no photos of Scalise at the Euro event (despite many being taken). The sponsors of the Euro event stated multiple times that Scalise did not attend.

No matter how absurd the contortions pursued by the left to claim Scalise was a racist who attended the Euro event as the guest of honor --- the false narrative simply is not true and liberals should hide their heads in shame for attempting to push it.

Let's see how many Democrats were guests of honor at events hosted by violent BLM extremists who demand the execution of cops by thugs. The list is certainly lengthy.

Go read the details... he spoke at an open admission anti-tax conference at the hotel. Euro members and any other person was openly invited to attend. This is very different than being the guest of honor at the Euro conference or attending sessions sponsored by Euro.

Keep spinning your nonsense.... you must be working on becoming a leading contortionist of the truth.
