  2. Now now db, watch the name calling. First show me in this thread where I have encouraged GG to continue trading. Ooops! You cannot find it right. Because it isn't there. Whether GG continues is up to him.

My entry into this conversation was in response to Magna's comment about your post, along with the inanity of your post.

Btw, what makes you competent to conclude that GG is unsuited for this biz. Because he has been honest and admits his failures and weaknesses? If only you were so honest.

What was that I read several posts back, you won't let me get away with something because I used to be a moderator!?!

LOLOLOL. I bet you were picked on a lot as a kid weren't you?

Anyway, I don't know of any tutor, or mentor, that financially supports and trains their students. What a silly thing to suggest. You are really reaching now. Or are you still stalling while you doctor up your account statement?

Name-calling? Shall we catalog all the things you've said about me over these months?

And as to your not encouraging GG to continue trading, I suppose the reference to Thomas Edison was apropos of something completely unrelated to the subject of this thread. I wonder what that might have been?

You're being slippery again, ial. Fact is, you think GG should keep trying, but you're not willing to lift a finger to help him. If I'm wrong, then volunteer (same goes for anyone else who's encouraged him to keep at it) to be his mentor.

As for me, I'm going to bed.

  4. I have spent time with GG and shared some strategies. But in truth, trend_guy's post is right on the money. And so is my assessment in my initial post. I have said the same to GG so I am not talking behind his back. Ultimately though, to make a living doing this, you have to have more than 2-5K imo. And that is the hurdle that will make it very difficult for GG.

And there is one trader on this board that I offered to have come to my office because he was having trouble following his rules. There are others here with whom I have shared my strategies privately. Not that my strategies are secret. You guys all know that I am a price crossing a moving average MACD player. No mysteries.

It is very late now db. I am east coast time. Have a nice night. I am sorry that once again you and I have gone at it.

I don't thing anyone is suggesting that GG let go of his dream. But his finances are at the point where he needs to do two things: augment them (extensively) by taking on another job and, if he tries trading again, do it another way. I'm always reminded of a sobering quote:

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results."

As GG has been unsuccessfully trading for 4 years he's clearly demonstrated that either he's not cut out for this line of work, or he's never had proper training, or both. Continuing to do the same thing over and over, even with slight variations, under the guise of perseverance is just plain silly. Nothing wrong with stepping away from the game, earning some money elsewhere, and taking a fresh look. People may mean well, but at this stage it's really not supportive to keep encouraging him to trade.

  6. ET members, for the record, whether you care or not, I have PM'd dbphoenix with an offer of truce. I have given my word to him that I will not respnd to his posts anywhere unless he directly attacks me.

I apologize to those of you whom I have offended and wish only to be a helpful and .... LOL... encouraging resource for the participants on this site.

As far as I am concerned, the hatchet is buried.

  7. Like rolling dice? Or hitting on women? Or pulling the lever of a slot machine? Or playing the lotto? ...

Truth is, Gordon will succeed or he will fail. At the moment he has failed, but that failure does not have to be permanent. Every man has their own path and if he discovers one better suited for him, so be it -- otherwise, he'll get back in the ring with more respect for his opponent and more weight inside his belt.

If he gets knocked out again, so what. Eventually he'll either get tired of boxing and choose a different sport, or learn a new technique.

I'm willing to bet you failed at trading when you first began. Nobody goes into this game a winner -- NOBODY.

  8. Very well stated :)... especially the stepping away part, which is what I did encourage him to do earlier this evening.

  10. what we have here is a guy that started with only 5K to his name and no job 4 yrs ago. GG, did you actually expect to learn to trade the eminis AND exponentially expand your account AND earn living expenses... all with 5K??!!

GG hasn't had the opportunity to learn to trade. his circumstances would never allow it! noone can learn under those conditions. he set himself an impossible task from the start. he might very well possess the capacity to be a great trader, who knows, it's impossible to tell at this point, because he hasn't even had a REAL opportunity to find out what he can do.
