Yeah, I make some money on the side on eBay. Did this one deal where I got paid to haul away a dozen Intel web cams (brand new, in box), then sold them on eBay.

If you know what you are doing, you can get some stunning deals on high tech stuff - get paid to haul it away from stores, or (better yet) get paid to get it delivered to your house. It's not really easy though - you have to do some research, fill out plenty of rebate forms, manage those rebates (funny how often companies can misplace your rebate), and manage the dang auctions. But you can turn some coin, and it's pretty fun putting the deal together.

  4. THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED SO MUCH, I HAVE TO BE CLEAR HERE:

as silk said, there is NOTHING wrong with quitting, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.

HOWEVER, i do not WANT to quit at all. it is in me to keep going, so i am going to keep going. if i ever change my mind, so be it.

    dbphoenix,

i don't think you're a fool, but everyone knows NOTHING WORTH DOING IS EASY. if i quit at this now, then what should i do, jump to something else i don't really want to do as much as trading, and then when it gets tough, quit that, too? no fucking way. i have put too much effort into this and i still have the desire. i'm not quitting.

  5. Bobcathy knows some rich people -- maybe we should hit her up on some cash and agree to do some "landscaping" (i.e. cut the grass, etc) and have her hook us up.

It is all in the approach. Let's compliment her on how good she is looking lately.

  6. You know, I love a good fire fight! And I know I will get one from this petty SOB.

Mr Coupons..tell us what you really think.

I never claimed to be perfect (made alot; lost alot); tell us about your charmed life?

I look in the mirror and see a trader (me) who HAS succeeded. Any more questions? Obviously you have an attitude problem ... flame away if you have the need to do so ... guess you can't handle those with opinions other than your own.

congrat on most popular thread, back then the 'screwed' thread took 9 hours to reach 10 pages, this thread need only 3 hours. As far as saying 'looking for sympathy' I don't recall but this is what I said

but ET proved to be irresistable, you are pulled back time and again, I always appreciate your sincere expression, your have way with words I bet you make a killer bartender (new faces every nights, wink, wink). I am fresh out of everything, sympathy, advise whatever, what worth saying somebody already said. I am ahead of you about 15 years so believe me when I say you ain't seen nothing yet. (out of clever ending, too).

edit: I would trade my left nut to be 25 and to be passionate about something again, life without goal ain't the life worth living my friend.

  9. Magna, I cannot think of another time that I have disagreed with you enough to post. I do not want to presume that you agree with dbphoenix on this.

Trading can be learned. It can be taught. It is not some inherent gift within any of us. Those of us who are successful... whatever that might mean to anyone.... have learned to trade. We have learned to follow a set of rules, or fairly stringent guidelines that produce profits. I can tell you because I know for a fact that it is the set of rules or guidelines and perhaps the discipline to follow them that keeps GG from being successful. Also I believe that he is grossly under-capitalized; and if there is one sure way to bust out it is to be short on dough and trade scared.

But there are many many true stories of people who kept trying, who sought training, who kept coming back, who failed a number of times until it finally clicked.

Fortunately dbphoenix wasn't around to give Thomas Edison advice when he was working on a filament for the light bulb. He tested thousands of materials including over 6000 plant fiber types. I imagine there were times that he wanted to stop, or quit. But thankfully he persisted and persevered.

I agree with you Magna that dbphoenix is speaking honestly. But is he accurate... no. I agree that he is being straightforward, but helpful...no. And I agree that he is to the point... but a necessary point.... no.

Now if you are saying that his post is extremely well said because it is grammatically and structurally sound, then I agree with you. But if you are agreeing with the premise that he is making, then I cannot disagree more fervently.

  10. Gordon,

If trading doesn't go well, you're apparent ability to get shit rolling on a Wednesday night might be a sign that you'll do wonderful on your own talk show or perhaps get into advertising. I'm sure Baron is recalculating his ad rates based soley on the effect you have had tonight.
